    The Lost Boys
    perse
with Arctic Monkeys - I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor

    Notes:

nice when the guitar comes in, i could learn this intro solo to belt out. vocals are very distinctive. It's boppy. You're man's voice doesn't really do anything for me. The guitar is decent. hmmmm. It's like exactly middling for me. not good, not bad. I'd ignore it most times I think.

    Pompey Pirates
    Slade's Agent
    with Slade - Gudbuy Goodbuy

    Notes:

ok, here we go. last bit of slade for the next year haha. music is very harsh and aggravating. vocals are decent. music is ruining it wtf. sounds like a bleedin factory shop floor. can't even concentrate on the vocals at all. booo. pity you didn't put everyday in for this one, because I've been belting that out for the last 2 months non-stop haha

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,882 ✭✭✭tusk

    The Carebears
    Barney
with Bill Withers - Ain't No Sunshine

    Notes:

OK, look this is like stairway, an easy high score. borderline cheating I would say. let's look at it objectively. music is bluesy and super chill. That voice is like warm caramel. yeah that vocal is pure smooth. strings in the bg are tidy. very understated music across the board. vocals is the main focal point, always good for a belter.

    Persistence Of Visio
    Homer
with Pat Benatar - Love Is a Battlefield

    Notes:

ooooh funky intro. synth, and drums. holdup. what is this vocal intro. sounds like an ad for an 80s fasion brand haha. red leather suits with pointy shoulders is what i'm visualising. music is super cool. vocals are boring though. couldn't see myself belting this at all. vocals aren't interesting at all.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,882 ✭✭✭tusk

    Was Not Was
    Banjo
with The Crocketts - Will You Still Care For Me

    Notes:

soft acoustic intro. vocals here. not doing anything for me early on. pretty boring here now tbh. ok we go heavy now, your man isn't singing. he's just talking like. there's nothing to belt. I would just be shouting talking, not even a note there bejaysus.

    The Wild Boys
    GnR
with Ocean Colour Scene - the day we caught the train

    Notes:

soft vocal intro, changed immediately into some condesned tune, with a bitta music behind. vocals the focus though. clear and handy to follow and understand. oh i know this song. Well i know that ohohlala bit anyway. yeah not bad. nothing too interesting, i'd probably turn it off to be honest, not really doing anything for me.

    Automation
    kitten
with Lukas Graham - Love Someone

    Notes:

vocals straight in. smooth and powerful. small bit of guitar in the background keeping the focus on the vocals. Nice little song. chorus time, it's decent. but not something that's really catching me. ah bits of it are interesting me, but on the whole it's kind of a snoozefest for me right now :/ orchestral bridge, hmmm. nothing special.

    Flames of Finland
    osh
with The Velvet Underground - Sweet Jane

    Notes:

wow, what's going on here. a serious delay in the intro music. very weird. vocals in. fairly smooth. reminds me of a bob dylan type vocal. boring af. couldn't really listen to this at all of my own free will. soz

    fixxxer
    with So What - Metallica

    Notes:

yeah so what indeed. I've never actually fully listened to this. It's lyrically fantastic. It's a cover from a punk band right? solo is sweet. not really doing much for me to be honest. the lyrics i love though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,882 ✭✭✭tusk

Ok, that's your lot. Thanks for playing.

nice piano intro. Wow that vocal. Was not expecting. that is delicious. wow. oh that 'Break through the skies'. with the open beats. tiiiiight. oh many i'm getting feels from this sssssaaaaake. I was not prepared for this. jesus sake. the drums come in, music gets intense. wow. aw lads, this is unreal. oh orchestral drums. wow. choral vocals. yesss. oh organ sounds. bassline. 'extre-eeeme'. love it. this may well go into my list of favourite songs. the music has been composed to a phenomenal level. they layers and the bits and bobs that pop in and out are amazing. that hefty drum beat behind everything. smashing high hat. yes. strings there too. what the heck. I can't deal with this song. great middle section there. do we get another verse? nope, but doesn't matter. that was brilliant. I'll be looking her up for sure.

Ah it'll soon be Xmas and we can all get a fill of Merry Xmas, but I'm happy you liked 3 out of 5, you might find a few belters on the Slade discography.

    Great Walrus though, thanks
