Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Pathetic tackling from Seattle to give up a 29yds TD

Steelers converted their fourth 3rd down of the season. Woo! They made it over halfway...

The Chargers play in a 27,000 seat stadium and still there are empty seats everywhere

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,156 ✭✭✭✭Foxtrol

Mental 1st half to only be 6-3

    49ers 206 yards, 6.5 yards per play, 11 first downs, 4 turnovers
Steelers 76 yards and 2.6 yards per play, 5 first downs, 0 turnovers

Hopefully the more likely thing is that the turnovers stop than the Steelers offense suddenly gets itself together

Yep because the majority of the fans they had for all those years are in San Diego not Los Angeles. There was a report that the chargers aren’t ponying up the cash for the new stadium.

Epically pathetic offensive performance from the Steelers. Can’t run, can’t pass, O-Line is a sieve.

Defence doing great considering but they’ll get gassed now and it could be a blowout

And most of the people who are there are cheering for the other team.

TD Giants. As much as it pains me to say it the Giants have something going with Daniel Jones.

I asked if a drop-kick like that was legal in a game thread last year. Don't know how other teams haven't thought of it tbh as it could easily create a 50/50 ball.

Two big plays. Looked like Rudolph can throw when he gets the opportunity. He should be given the chance more but 49ers defense is severely underrated at this point. That game is one that 49ers would have lost the last 2 seasons

Doubly so, as the Fair Catch call stopped the clock, meaning they didn't burn a TO

Pats tried it with Ebner in that abortive loss to the Eagles in 2015. Shame they've not gone back to it.

Rugby kickers should be the future for NFL kickers. Could easily dual hat as Punters/ Kickers, and used to handling pressure kicks

Steelers can’t move the chains. We had a great O-Line in recent seasons but they are getting old and their position coach went to Denver. The pocket was collapsing on Rudolph all night and we have zero run game to bail him out. SF’s sloppiness kept the Steelers in the game. Going to be a long season.

SF pass rush was excellent and they have some really good weapons on offence. Can’t imagine they’ll give up the football five times again. Definitely playoff contenders.

Some Scottish lad who was rugby mad as a youngster is playing as kicker for someone. Was article bout him in the BBC

Be comical to see Sexton or Farrell in NFL taking 50 seconds to make a kick at goal, whilst gurning and throwing grass in the air to check the wind.

On the drop-kick thing, couldn't help but feel it'll be outlawed soon enough if everyone starts doing in for on-side kicks. It's probably the sort of clash they want to avoid.

Be such a cushy job for them. Little physical stress, could play for years, earning more than they do as rugby players

They're pretty bad on both sides of the ball. Some good receivers but they're qb is bad and whoever is in charge of that oline should be shot. No effort to deal with Mack at all is suicidal.

Disheartening end to his best drive of the season

I was really hoping we'd have the backups in at this stage. Very disheartening to have let Washington get a foot in the door again when I thought we had it slammed shut. The question marks arise again (though I'd be shocked if we didn't still win)

    Gabriel out with a concussion.

    And Hicks out (hopefully precautionary)

What is Case Keenum thinking? You wouldn't even see a rookie make that mistake.

Trevathan made a great play there when we really were looking at sixes and sevens on defense. Crowd had gotten into it and all. Would like to see another good drive but this time ending in a td from trubisky now. Could sleep a bit Sounder then

I'm presuming the plan was to get the forward progress then haul it in and protect. Terrible idea.

What a run from Montgomery there, he's looking great, opposition notwithstanding.

Dunno why they are putting Pineiro out there to kick a meaningless FG with a bad knee. So stupid after everything that happened all off-season to find a kicker.

Exactly! Couldn't believe what I was seeing when he started limping after the kick! Just rest him ffs. Either let Pat take a kick or just run it on fourth. If we end up having to find a new kicker it'll come back to haunt is as sure as eggs is eggs.

23-9 coming in (went back and checked since I seemed incapable of getting that right).
So many QBs out it nearly forces your hand a bit.

Can't believe the Seahawks and Bills seem liket to end up at 3-0.

Went with the Jags as my upset play. I think the defense plays big and puts the game on Mariota's shoulders which will lead to picks.

A lot of reserve QBs doing well this season (Falk and Rudolph being the notable exceptions).

34-14 after going 11-5 this week.

The patriots and Cowboys games as said earlier should viewer discretion warnings on them as those two could do with a three knock down rule of some sort. The Eagles game obviously is what i'll watch at 6pm. The ravens and Chiefs game potentially could a classic. And also the niners could start 3-0.

I said I had a feeling about the niners during the off season.
7-9 for this week. Rough day at the office as they say. 27-21 for the season so far. Need to do better next week.
