I like how due to delays with other games it really has a clear run for March, it should tide me over till Persona 5 Royal and Resident Evil 3 come out.

Hope they stopped with the ridiculous tracking on some enemy attacks, shame the loot system seems to be a chore to deal with again along with being unrewarding.nevertheless nioh 1 has some of the most fun combat in any video game I have ever played really looking forward to this

Do not worry it is a walk in the park compared to Sekiro.

Was very hesitant about having yōkai powers, but seeing as they're not the massive boon in battle I thought they were going to be im a bit happier.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 252 ✭✭daheadonu

Apparently you can get drops from yokai that allow you to use they're special moves, looks so cool

Bought this this morning. Looking for something to really sink my teeth into and get super meta about and this is the perfect game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,122 ✭✭✭BeerWolf

Just bought the "pre-order" for it, all downloaded and ready to go for the midnight release to play it for a few hours. I don't work till 11:30am. ;)

just bought this and its downloading. any starting class or weapons to make this easier. found nioh 1 way too hard but ive finished all the souls games plus bb

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 252 ✭✭daheadonu

Besides the new mechanics from previews I've watched it seems the weapons are the same but with new abilities.try out the chain sickle weapon and get the "reaper" skill in its specific skill tree, works great vs small monsters and for breaking large monsters horns.

Axe is the easiest. Hits Hard, and has very early skill up to grab the pretty good Spin attack.

Went with the axe as I wanted to use something which wouldn't be consider a conventiual Samurai weapon. Doesn't seem particularly overpowered, it's lack of range is really hurting it for me compared to to the Odaichi and the Tonfa which has a few leaping moves that cover alot of ground quickly.

The burst counter is a great addition to the game. I'm playing with a brute spirit and being able to interrupt Yokai with a hyperarmour stun is fantastic.

Hve you tried the new weapons?they any use?

Christ, was struggling on the boss at the Forge... and then switched to low stance and it became a cake walk after an hour of trying... :p

He is the only enemy that gave me trouble so far. Go through by saving the water containers and Demon Mode for when he enrages

Its more of the same really. A few mechanic changes here and there but nothing drastic. Enjoying it well enough so far. Nioh 1 didn't wear out its welcome as i dumped it at the first instance it became boring to me.

    like sekiro. too hard

Im liking it, still have to get used to Ki bursts again.

I've been playing a couple of nights, still messing around and getting the hang of it in the opening area. There's a lot of intricacies to the combat system, that's for sure. First boss seems doable solo, think he will fall to my blade tonight!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,797 ✭✭✭sweetie

How's everyone getting on with this? I'm at the second boss, nearly had him a couple times last night, want to do it solo but was sorely tempted.
Really liked that second level. Lot's of nooks and crannies to explore. Any idea what the
    Kodama in the caves
was looking for? Also forgot how tough those
    wall monsters
    are!

I gave them a weapon and they give one back , haven't tried with armour

I've got three bosses down now and enjoying it. Is anyone else using katana? Is it just me or are they not as good as the first game

Finished my first playthrough, i used kusarigama and ninjutsu all the way, can get quite OP when dex is high level. Now to level up all other weapons for trophies. Great game btw, improvements on the original are great.

I see the sloth talisman is single target instead of an AOE now.

    Wasn't it always single target?

Looks like it was. I thought is slowed other enemies around the talismaned one too but it doesn't.

Its just ok. I'm getting bored with it and my desire to play wanes everyday. I just started the 5th region and i find it alot easier compared to the first game. Only one boss caused me trouble but i still beat him on my 4th try.

One thing i dislike is how polarized builds seem to be. With how scaling works i can't have two weapons that feel equal in strength unless i level 2 stats in tandem. The same with ways in which i should deal with enemies. I'm playing using the 2handed axe and i can fight every enemy i have encountered so far using the high stance and strong attack alone. I try to mix it up but in the back of my mind i know i will do better in all situations using high stance strong attacks. And because i have been leveling Stamina mostly no other weapon comes close to the axe so i can't even switch to my secondary weapon and make the game feel different

Having different weapons scale off different stats within the weapon class would satisfy me. Anyway, ill play it to the end and dip my toe in NG+ then go from there

Double blades or double axes FTW!

Was the same for me in nioh 1,was using the chain and guardian spirt for bosses and normal attacks for everything else, really trivialised the game for me

This is deal of the week on PSN and if you buy from PSN Turkey (using disposable revolut visa) the Digitial Deluxe can be gotten for around €40.
Seeing as the DLC alone is €25 I might sell my physical copy and chance it if I can figure out will my save be compatible - turkey is in EU region for PSN.

nah you can, as long as both main game and dlc are from same country you're fine. I bought last of us complete ed. on us store and the dlc worked.

installed this last night and my previous save is working. I guess because we are in same region (EU) as Turkish store.

yes, seems it works within a region (ire - turk) but not cross region (ire - usa)
