    How-do all.

A quick reminder to all our members, new and existing, to read the rules of the for sale forum before posting. In the last 36 hours i've had to remove 11 threads and 5 posts from both new and existing members that have breached the for sale section rules.

Some seem to be hoping that the item will be sold before the Mods discover there are no pictures, price, etc. Anyone trying this will have the advert, and their access to the forum, removed.

We don't want to have to do this. The for sale section is there for your use, and we want people to be able to buy and sell their gear, God knows its getting harder to find somewhere to do it. However like all platforms if this is abused it will be removed by the Admins and if it reaches that level then the Mods will have no ability to save it. IOW it'll be out of our hands.

There are a few rules and you should read them all but if you want a "nutshell" summary the three main ones you need to be aware of are:

    1. All adverts MUST have pictures (with the exception of free items)
    2. All adverts MUST have a price
    3. NO bumping an advert within 48 hours of your last post unless it's in direct response to a question.

New member should be aware that for 48 hours after registering and until you have 5 posts made across the forum/site you will NOT be able to post pictures. So if you join and immediately try to post an advert you won't be able to post pictures or link to websites/image hosting sites.

The rules for new accounts was introduced to prevent against further spam/malicious attacks on the site and it's only 2 days & 5 posts so not a big inconvenience.

If at any point you need help send a PM to myself or one of the other Mods and we'll happily walk you through the process and do whatever we can to help you. We, the Mods, are volunteers so please be a little patient if you don't receive a response immediately, and please DON'T post the advert because you didn't get an immediate response as it'll be removed without warning.

This is your forum and it only works with your co-operation. So please follow these few simple rules and it'll be here for years to come.

    Thanks

    The Mod Team.

Hi when your in the shooting for sale section and go to press post and describe your add there is no attach file there
This attach file only works and ya there to use if you leave your ie shooting section and I don’t know is it the same for other sections
I am using an iPhone to upload anything I wish to sell and yes I hold my hands up I did not upload photos for items I had for sale as the attach file was not there

If you are using the mobile version it may be different to the standard/desktop version.

Some people did notice when posting a thread that they did not have the option to attach pictures on the first post, but could with a second hence the reason you see a few for sale threads with two posts only minutes apart. The first having the description and the second having the pictures.

Not sure what you mean by this, sorry.

The purpose of the forum wide notification is not to directly attack any one person, and frankly you were not even on my radar, but as said above in the last 48 hours there have been multiple threads and posts all of which were missing pictures, prices, some in the wrong sections and others were bumping their advert every 12 hours.

So there is no need for apologies or putting your hands up to anything. Its not a chasitsation of you or anyone else, just a reminder of the rules.
