Just a dress and eye mask. I get away with witching it up.a bit at Halloween parties, as I'm halfway there already when on a slightly goth fashion kick.

    Favourite pair of shoes?

    My Van's.

Oldest piece of clothing that you have and use?

A 10 year old red coat that comes out every winter.

Are you good to remember other's birthdays?

I have a few original Victorian corsets, high necked blouses etc. An antique fox fur stole (bit like a scarf).
A few things from the 70s I think...inc. a cardi with a big sun and moon on it. I have a clothes addiction.

I am good at birthdays...I even think, for example, "its x's birthday" despite not being in touch with x or them not being around anymore.

Do you do anything specialto mark anyone's birthday, apart from giving a gift to them?

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,081 ✭✭✭✭Purple Mountain

I'm not a birthday person, even for my own.

Do you go for Sunday bevvies?

Not now but maybe I will the odd Sunday if there's a nicer local crowd where I'm hoping to be living next.

    Alcohol? A good merlot.

Do you know the species names of trees you'd see in your local area?

At work polishing saddles and bridles.

An awful lot. The easist to describe here: a huge, bigger than a saucer, large hand span sized black hairy spider in a secondhand van that had been a grocers van in the past. I guess he escaped the pesticides they spray on bananas for export. You'd have to have seen it to believe it. He was chilling out on the sill of the driver's window so I passed a tube of Nivea to tbe driver who gave him a little nudge and off he went. We scrambled to watch him exit the van and he was so big you could easily see him galloping down the road.

    Your strangest sight?

Would have to be my time in Al Basrah. Most main streets had a central culvert where all the sewage flowed. So you had food vendors on both sides, and sewage running down the main streets. I always thought it was messed up.

    Ever go horseback riding?

Never, and it's something I don't think I'll ever do either.

I think you’re safe enough. Chocolate for the cough and water for the headache.

Sorry, it was in Clare :D
I googled and the Goliath Birdeater looked like the stowaway spider in the van, which was about 8 years ago. They live for about 15 years so he's probably decrepit and slow now, at least :D

Do you prefer online shopping or physically going to the shops?

Would you say you're a people person?

    I am not googling that!!!

My internet is very slow today but it is working!

I like online shopping so I don't have to interact with my fellow humans! :D But I prefer going to the shops because there's just too much choice online and I get frustrated.

Would you drink mulled wine at Christmas?

Online as it is much easier and most times faster.

    Oddest item you ordered?

If you had an unexpected visitor would you be happy enough with the tidiness of your home?

Right handed but I eat left handed and I'm doing more and more things with left hand due to an issue with my right shoulder.

Glorious day here. Is it sunny where you are?

Very sunny, but also very cold. I'm just home from a mates funeral and the temp on my motorbike was reading just 3c.

Ever been to a humanist funeral?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,633 ✭✭✭✭Widdershins

    No. A humanist wedding ceremony.
    It's not sunny here.
