Some comments on HUKD recommending entering your details in the app and restarting to get it to show?

You need at least 1000 points on your subcard to qualify, ie registering for a free one won't work, as I've just found out :(

Thanks! It's showing up on my app. I have more points than I care to admit. I don't think that makes a difference though.

    - My balance is only 761 and I got an e-mail for the free wrap. Just get your card or app scanned it says.

I've got the offer in my app. Happy days! Thanks OP

I think they may have meant you need to have had 1000 points at some stage previously to this offer to qualify, nobody in their right mind would keep 1000 points loaded on the card/app as they expire after a certain time frame

I had close to 8000 on mine at one stage.....

Benefits of standing on the top of the queue when you bring in 15 people a month to get subways and claim all their points :D

They what? How long do you have them before they expire.

Are they adding points to cover it, or is it just in the offers section, and then free when you scan the app?

How do I get the offer I downloaded the app and signed up and when to offers in the app and it just says sub squad

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,086 ✭✭✭duffman13

    Cheers OP much appreciated.

On the expiration At one point I had a few thousand points, went away for a year and they didn't expire. Not sure on the timeframes on expiration

Isn't it capped at 5000 now?

Isn't it capped at 5000 now?

    Probably because of me :D:D

It could be. This was a few years. I barely reach 1000 in a year now.

I have 2000 points, no idea where they came from, I never pay for anything in Subway, only use it for freebies...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,647 ✭✭✭channelsurfer2

FYI - it appears none of the franchise holders were told about this and some are not giving away the free sub. the one is spoke to which i usually go to says that there will probably be a new email clarifying the offer. The franchisee has to cover the cost of it.

Just got a free wrap in Sandyford (by the old Microsoft building). They usually cost €7.20
They never scanned my app so will get another one tomorrow :D

So you got robbed off then, it comes off at the till and doesn’t cost the franchise anything as subway reimburse them for the cost.
I was chatting to a manager of a franchise just now in cork

thanks! I'll go back tomorrow and get it if thats the case.

Wondering the same. I presume it will auto deduct when you scan your subcard QR code? But wondering if the cashier needs to be made aware before hand?

I remember a few years back Subway had a good offer on and there seemed to be complete confusion as some stores were offering it and others weren't or else didnt know about it. This could be similar

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 561 ✭✭✭thenightman

Offer is showing up on the account I created yesterday, will give it a bash tomorrow. This Subway previously had no knowledge of the offers in the Christmas voucher booklet they were giving away in store, so doubt it'll be smooth sailing!

Just went and got mine there and the owner didnt have a clue, scanned my QR code a few times, was messing with the till for 10 minutes, eventually he gave up and just told me to take it so I still have my code :D

I couldnt collect it yesterday in the same Subway because they said they'd ran out of wraps because so many people were using the offer? I remember this confusion the last time we had a Subway deal aswell.

Chipotle Steak and Cheese is a damn nice wrap, rugby ball sized package aswell so Ill have the other half for lunch at work tomorrow, all in all a good deal.

o clear things up..caps on answers for effect.

You need 1000 points on your card to claim this?!

NO. 1000 POINTS GETS YOU A FREE FLATBREAD OR FOOTLONG SUB, INDEPENDENT OF THIS OFFER. THIS OFFER DOES NOT REQUIRE, OR REDUCE ANY POINTS ON YOUR SUBCARD. ANY STORE INSISTING ON THAT REQUIREMENT FOR THIS FREE WRAP HASN'T UPDATED THEIR TILLS TO SHOW THE OFFER OR AREN'T PARTICIPATING (T&C: "PARTICIPATION MAY VARY" - SO ASK FIRST!)

Why isn't the offer showing in my app?

THE SUBWAY APP IS BUGGY AS HELL. MAKE SURE THE APP IS UPDATED TO LATEST VERSION THEN OPEN AND CLOSE SEVERAL TIMES IF NOT SHOWING IN OFFERS. OR, CHECK YOUR EMAILS IF YOU RECEIVE THEM FROM SUBWAY.

    THANKS @themallrat FOR THIS ADVICE:

"UPDATE YOUR DETAILS, CLICK NEXT STEP, SELECT OFFERS AND PROMOTIONS, CLICK SAVE."

NOTHING BARCODE WISE WILL BE IN THE OFFER SCREEN. YOU SCAN YOUR SUBCARD AT TILL TO CLAIM THE OFFER IF THE STORE IS ACCEPTING IT (T&C: "PARTICIPATION MAY VARY" - SO ASK FIRST!)

    I had to pay*

YOUR FAULT. ASK THE STAFF IF THEY ARE ACCEPTING THE OFFER FOR A FREE WRAP (SHOW THEM YOUR PHONE) PRIOR TO ORDERING. IF THEY SAY ITS OKAY AND SUBSEQUENTLY INSIST IT DOESN'T WORK UPON REACHING TILL - REFUSE TO PAY AND WALK AWAY.

Cheers for that Patsy, nice and informative.

Can I ask has anyone been successful in getting this offer in any of the Limerick city branches??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,647 ✭✭✭channelsurfer2

my store says as of today they are aware of it but awaiting the till to be updated to accept the offer...she said that hopefully it will work from today. if not she says they wont partake it in as per the small print they dont have to.

Got this in Douglas, cork. Guy scanned barcode, said i didnt have enough points. I showed him the offers section in app and he rolled his eyes and gave it to me as an employee meal. So technically not redeemed so might go agin at weekend.
Wraps are fairly poor imho, cant beat the subs. But ya cant beat a free lunch!:)
