Think there was some crossover between e21 and e30 in 82/83?

Overpriced? I'd be interested if it wasnt red!

I wouldn't say it's overpriced at all, 4x4s seem to go for good money

Just re-read your post. 1500 yesterday, I guess someone is flipping it.

Ya I think you're right there. The lwb ones kept the older mazda diesel longer than the swb ones.

The swb model before the one above actually got the peugeot 1.9 dturbo engine but they're seriously rare.

Is it not the Renault 1.9 diesel?

No that's the next model that came out around 2006. They're a terrible yoke.

    Good engine?
    No dpf I'm guessing.
The petrol would really interest me as a run around for carrying the hounds.

Get the GV1600 petrol version instead.

Actually there’s a nice Fiat Sedici 1.6 petrol on donedeal at the moment. Rebadged Suzuki SX4.

Me old man has an sx4, I bought it for him!
Not a bad yoke, he likes it but the boot is ****e and seats dont fold down fully, these little vitaras are great as the back seats fold away nicely.

If you can handle the styling, a Yaris Verso makes an excellent dog car.

Seats fold individually into the rear footwells. Only 1.3 tax too.

Wouldnt be overly bothered, they soon have everything destroyed so practicality is the only real requirement.

You won’t get more practical than these, no seats to chew once they’re stowed away, low loading sill, big square box in the back. Legendary reliability.

That looks very clever. I know Honda have a nice system that is very practical also, in the Jazz I believe. Dunno why more manufacturers dont put more thought and effort into this area, I know it adds a bit to production costs but I'm sure it would be worthwhile if they did.

Just need electric windows in the rear, havent succeeded in teaching them the windy ones yet!

The Jazz seats are the same as in my old Civic, they’re also very clever because they fold up like cinema seats too, as well as properly down into the floor.

I actually wanted to get my old man a jazz instead of the sx4 but he was having none of it, liked the look of the sx4 and the little bit of height it gives, given he comes from driving vans all his life. I'm a big believer in 'you like what you like' so didn't try change his mind.

2.5t manual S80 with NCT til September for €450

Nice car for not a lot of money even if you threw three months tax on top of the purchase price

  • Registered Users Posts: 51,202 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

Tidy looking Mk1 Leon (except for the driver's seat) asking €750. NCT until September but potentially 3 months Covid extension on top of that:

The most practical car I ever owned. Used for moving band gear, fridges, patio furniture, anything just got swallowed into it. Went to buy it on my vespa, folded down the back seats, put the scooter on it's stand upright into the back and drove home. Simple car to work on, cheap parts and I've heard it can hit the tonne on the motorway, just about. High driving position, like a kitchen chair. Headroom for even the tallest driver. Minded it well and sold it for what I paid for it. Pure unadulterated bangernomic beauty.
As pleasant to look at as Eamonn Dunphys scrotum obviously, but a cracking car nonetheless.
