OP, don't worry about the high horse brigade. You'll be grand.

No judge is going to throw the book at you for any amount that would reasonably be termed personal use. I'd be somewhat surprised if it even gets to court but, if it does, dress respectably, be contrite, say sorry, say some bigger boys made you do it etc. etc.

Your punishment will be the hassle of going to court and a few quid in the poor box.

We were all young once. Live your life, take measured risks and learn from your experiences. The majority of the nutcases I've come across studied, interned, worked and then went mad for experiences and substances they should have ticked off before there were partners and kids involved.

The "It's not fair that it's ok to be drunk" argument? We know and understand quite well the chemical pathways, action/interaction of alcohol in (particularly) western humans. It's a central nervous system depressant and shouldn't be abused, but we know a lot about how it affects us. Not so with drugs especially the newer synthetic ones. The interaction with our body chemistry and particularly the longer term effects - possible Parkinson like symptoms, brain damage etc, personally I wouldn't risk it.

    Sorry but that's not correct.

The cellular mechanisms underpinning the effects brought about by ecstasy/MDMA, cocaine etc are extremely well characterised and understood, and have been for decades.

Fair enough in relation to the "new synthetic drugs" you refer to, but I'm not sure what they might be. We're discussing MDMA here anyway.

If someone is using drugs such as coke, mdma, skunk etc then they have a problem....

These are illegal for a reason.

    No, they don't.

If they are using them excessively then yes, they have a problem. As with alcohol, nicotine etc.

And yes, they are illegal for a reason. Governments don't know how/are afraid to legislate for decriminalisation and legalisation, and instead will bend the knee to the USA and their highly successful war on drugs🙄🙄

When you buy illegal drugs you have no idea who has manufactured the product, where, when, using what ingredients, in what proportion and purity.

Exactly why Ecstasy(mmda) should be legal.
There are websites around for years that users leave reviews on them like pill reports https://pillreports.net/index.php?page=region_home&region=2&sub_region=47
It's not something that should be illegal but it should be regulated for adult use.

Moderator: This thread is a very good example of why threads about getting caught with drugs are not allowed as per the forum charter.

    Closed.
