He was absolutely fantastic when he played Charles Haughey in the RTE drama. He nailed it.

He was also brilliant as John-Boy in Love/Hate.

No, I'm replying to the user saying Aidan Gillen isn't good in anything.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan in the Walking Dead.

He's romcom fodder at best...couldn't take him seriously at all fluting around with a baseball bat

No, for such good writing and such a good character, Murphy performance is as usual wooden, one dimensional, and dead.
It would much better with a better actor. There are hundreds of actors that could play that part better.

I disagree. I think he nails the self involved psycopath role. Would like to hear a couple of names from the hundreds who could do better. ?

When i have the misfortune of watching fair city i despair that this is the level of actors we turn out from our colleges. All acting schools in this country should be banned

Ah, in fairness he was playing a 'nice but dim' character in that. Perfect casting there, IMO.

Sexy Beast, ½ a great movie.

Ben Kingsley, Ray Winstone - tense, well acted first half.

Then Ray meets the top boss - Lovejoy!
All downhill from there (not all Lovejoy's fault granted)

Jonathan Rhys Meyers in The Tudors. Looked nothing like Henry VIII.

Not quite as bad but also worth mentioning Maria Doyle Kennedy as Catherine of Aragon in the same show.

Keanu Reeves in Much Ado About Nothing.

Not aware of the film but films generally are not filmed in the order you see it.

Liv Tyler – The Lord of the Rings
    Georgr Clooney in Batman
    Colin Farrell in Alexander
    Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs
Nicholas Cage was offered the role of Aragorn but pulled out................. Christ, that would have been up there on top of list if he took it up .

Chris O'Donnell in Circle of Friends. A truly anaemic romantic lead.

Cate Blanchett in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It didn't help that the film was a stinker but she was awful. And they shouldn't have let Shia LaBeouf within a 100 mile radius of the set.

Guys, it's the TV forum, at least try and keep things to that medium?

Gotta agree on Finn Jones in Iron Fist; and the producers knew it too cos season 2 made pains to downplay his presence in the story...

Ah, here. What about films that are shown on tv??

Not exactly committing crimes against humanity by discussing films as well!!

This is who I was going to list.

Reacher is built like a brick sh!t house in the books.

    Tom Cruise is not.
