So here we have a group on Facebook, some people on this forum may recognise this FB group, in my opinion it appears this behaviour is normal on this group, am I an idiot for thinking this is disgusting ? I just realised tonight there is a lot more people draining our economy than I originally thought. The attitude here stinks.

Please Note: I posted this on a phone. Apologies for the brutal photoshop.

Its meant to be there for people who need it. Its a rather cavalier attitude.

If he really is on the dole and not simply having a laugh.

Be fantastic if they could sterilise a good portion of the population like these that are expanding the ever growing circle of social welfare family busines from generation to generation.

There should be gold plated dole for people who have worked their bollix off all their life and for a while fine themselves out of work through no fault of their own. There should also be basket case dole at exactly the UK level for people who sit on their fooking hole their entire life like their father and his father before him but expect a 3 bed house in a productive area of Dublin and Recaro buggy provided to them by the state.

I really f*ckin hate this attitude.

If we did that, no Eminem, No Jay-z, No JK Rowling, No Jim Carrey, No Leonardo DiCaprio, No Mohed Altrad, No Jan Koum, No Leonardo Del Vecchio. No Howard Schultz. No Oprah.

I don't care if you're a fan or whatever of these, but they all came from nothing and had a huge impact in the world.

Not aiming this at you so I won't address it only towards you, but...

Anyone who agrees with you ought to read the newspapers of 50 or 100, or even 200 years ago.

British and Irish newspapers were full of moral panic about the plebs (I'm sure they used even more colourful language) out-breeding the Quality.

No matter how highly anyone thinks of their own social standing today, I guarantee you that every one of us have come from stock that were once considered unfit to breed.

Unless you're a legit Prince, people once wrote long, rambling articles about the likes of your Great Grandmother and how she was out-breeding the desirables.

Im just saying. One day, the descendants of these single mothers will probably be writing articles about how your kind shouldn't be breeding at such a ferocious rate. Such is life!

You may think that, but between all the companies and money they control, you would be very surprised.

And Oprah? Net worth of $2.6bn and I'm sure her 12,000 employees are fairly happy her broke parents weren't sterilised.

Far from it. Nobody wants to work anymore, and by that I mean get your hands dirty type of work. I don't blame them, they are getting well paid to sit at home. It's the system that needs to change.

It’s called child allowance, and usually their OH is working. I’ll break it down.

    Person A: 188 social welfare. + 3 kids @ 80 Euro a month (guessing here) 240.

    Total - 420 roughly.

    Person B - 200 per day + no kids
    After tax - 700 a week - tax- 2300 bare minimum.

    Total after tax - 2800

    Rent - 220
Electricity and the rest - 800 - (generous)
    920

1800 expendable- that’s a serious whack right there for 1 parent not workingz
Moral of the story’s I’m drunk goodnight folks.
If anyone wants to tell me different I completely accept that. Let’s go.

The same people will (quite rightly) say that a worker on 400 quid a week cannot makes ends meet.

Someome on that income could easily be entitled to HAP, a medical card, or other rental supports. Such an individual pays very little tax, and rightly so. Yet the complainers see no contradiction here.

Several studies have shown that people are better-off at work.

None of it matters for people who claim they are 'fools' to be at work. Whether or not they are fools, I wouldn't like to say.

The message was clearly meant to annoy you, so I'd call it trolling, and it seems to have worked. If I was making great money on welfare I'd be keeping it to myself, not purposely attracting attention to it.

Your example of their finances also assumes a working partner and three children, which is a little specific. They're entitled to the childrens allowance, so the only wrong doing would be having a partner working and, I assume, living with them.
I'm not saying people don't game the system, and I'm not saying they use their welfare responsibly, but it's not exactly living the high life.

I'm currently on Jobseekers with my partner working and 2 kids, he makes a bit less than your estimate for person B and I don't even get half the rate. Honestly being on the dole is quite miserable I find, you have Social Welfare in your neck constantly and it certainly wouldn't be a lifestyle I'd chose in the long run.

Well that's kind of the point I saw in the thread originally, several of our wonderful neighbours are on social long term, get a bunch of allowances, hap, fuel etc. plus childrens, are able to live quite comfortably and somehow also afford 20-30k cars, holidays and of course motorbikes for their little angels. Should they be sterilized as some people have said? No, and not just because we might get the next Bono or whatever out of one of them as someone says (although it's a bit strange how that argument fails to factor in abortion, how many Oprah Winfrey's were taken out of planned parenthoods as medical waste?), but I digress, It's incredibly demoralizing to see really awful people living the life while I struggle, so I guess I'm a begrudger, but this is the begrudgery forum isn't it?

Okay, so sterilisation puts too many future Oprahs at risk.

Fair enough. Take their children away from them.

I don't blame the people. Taking the easy way out is human nature. Blame the system and the lack of balls on any of our leaders past or present to tackle it. I have always wondered why those on Welfare cannot work for the state ? I mean the state gives them money so could they not do some part time work for it ? I'll wait now for a slew of complex - academic theories as to why that can't happen -social inequality horsesh*it - insurance reasons - we must understand first crap...

Look, im not saying everyone on the dole is a waster. That’s not what I’m saying, I’ve been on the dole twice in my life. First time I was on it was for 2 weeks and then decided I’d work for absolute pennies during the recession. The 2nd time I was on it for 4 weeks shortly after the recession when I came back from abroad.

My problem is with people that make it a lifestyle choice, and push for a council house etc. They feel entitled. I know a fair few people who’ve gotten houses and I know a lot of people who abuse the system and what I’m seeing proves there’s actually more than I originally thought. A lot of people. A friend of mine is in a Facebook group and we were discussing the issue and she showed me that post.

I think what I’m deeply pi$$ed off about is the fact I’m saving so hard every day for a house, I will struggle to buy where I want while paying colossal rent. In fact I’ll probably have to buy in a location I don’t want affecting my commute in turn affecting my quality of life.

We have the government taking 10% of housing estates, ones which I’ll never afford and then practically giving them away for free.

Now I totally understand people who are sick and cannot work, depression and anxiety I wouldn’t wish this upon my worst enemy.

But they are homing people in the cities whereas anyone who’s getting a house should be on the outskirts because they most likely don’t work or if they do it’s not many hours. We can’t keep housing people in the city. We have a serious housing crises but we have thousands of empty houses around the country ???? Like it’s just getting ridiculous.

Then you’ve this absolute slob gloating about it on a thread and there’s literally 100’s of people agreeing with her and backing her up.
There’s a good chance she’s better off financially than some working people will ever be.
This shouldn’t be the case the whole welfare system needs an overhaul.

I’ve lived in other countries and they literally put people like this outside the city in shoeboxes. Couples and single people are usually put into a studio shoebox. They aren’t just given a house for life.

well they do...CE schemes, TUS/Jobpath schemes....why do you think the jobless figures are down so low at the moment, cause the economy is on the up?...(well kind of if you have the right qualifications)

no its because they've got the long term dole bunnies on these waste of time schemes so as to make the unemployment figures more acceptable

It's strange the way it was automatically assumed it was a male on the dole, straight in with the manchild insults when she was actually female.

It doesn't make a difference to the post, it's still very antagonising to read however there seems to be fixed stereotypes in people's heads.

The post must be put in context. The initial poster made a disrespectful comment about people on the dole using derogatory language.

A person on the dole got angry at this and created a post to make the initial poster as angry as possible – i.e., I’m using your money and living it up. If this comment was made in isolation, it wouldn’t have got many likes. It got likes because of the anger at the initial poster – probably lots of working people liked the post.

So no I don’t think this person is going to London and New York on dole money.
