Hi everyone – we wanted to share a quick update on our plans for Destruction AllStars. We’ve decided to move the game’s release from November 2020 to February 2021, where it will be included for two months in PlayStation Plus at no additional cost.
Destruction AllStars is a multiplayer game that’s at its best when you’re competing with gamers online from all around the world. We want as many people as possible to experience the mayhem on PS5, and what better way to do that than to provide the game to our PlayStation Plus members?
Next week, we’ll return with a brand-new trailer and more details on the game, so you’ll know exactly what to expect when you download it in February.
This may be disappointing news for some of you who were looking to play the game at launch, but we hope you understand the decision. For those of you that have already pre-ordered the game, be it via PlayStation Store, PlayStation.com, or at retail, your purchase will be refunded.
Thank you for your continued support, we look forward to seeing you in the arena in February!

So far I've been pretty underwhelmed by the PS5 (and obviously the Xbox Series X) from what I've seen so far. I definitely wouldn't see myself as excited as I read with the jump from the PS2 to the PS3 which introduced HD gaming, mainstream access to Blu-ray which revolutionised full HD entertainment, and online multiplayer. I have a day one release in Smyths but I really wouldn't be super excited bringing it home like I was with past consoles. While I do have a TV that supports Gsync, freesync etc. they're not game changing features like tut jump from SD to HD. I think we've reached the peak of technology that despite 7 years since the PS4, the jump to the PS5 isn't massive. It is a massive jump than the PS4 was from the PS3 as it gives us more PC gaming quality hardware but even at that I'm feeling meh about the PS5. If I didn't have a preorder secured I don't think I'd be feeling bad about it or trying to secure one. Maybe I'm an old school guy who has seen such massive technological leaps since the first PS that the iterative upgrades since the revolutionary jump the PS3 made has been underwhelming in comparison. Anyone else starting to feel the same?

Complete opposite here as well I have never been more excited for a new console. In my opinion although the jumps between generations seem to be less of a leap we are nowhere near the peak of technology.

Was just watching a bit of watch dogs legions gameplay on twitch tv as some streamers got to have an early look at the game. All I can say is I would advise people to wait for reviews on this one. I think it will be slated as it looked comically bad in my opinion. Was never on my radar after the first two games anyway.

Will most likely pick up demon souls and cyberpunk day one and maybe the new COD to play with friends.

It looks really bad, a major shift from the first one at least. Loved the original watchdogs and have second one in the backlog

Yeah reviews are hit and miss so far. I wasn't a big fan of the last one as I didn't like the main character being a non dialogue type.

I'm sticking with AC, MM and Cyberpunk

If you ordered from Amazon you can now just change the delivery address to your Irish one! That’s what I did. Also they have started using their own Amazon delivery vans and drivers in Ireland from last week so delivery’s should be a lot quicker.

I tried to change the delivery address. There is no option to amend the address except on the desktop version of Amazon and even then when I tried it said the item contents cannot be shipped to your destination.

Are there any special measures when picking up oversized items these days? Haven't had anything that big since last year. Are there queues outside at all? Gather there would be for the PS5 launch?

I’ve never had an oversize item before so I don’t know I’m afraid.

Grumpy, you get a PS5 to review?? :)

I wish, considering the big outlet are only getting them now due to the shortage that would be wishful thinking. We got the Vita and PS4 from Sony so it's not out of the question, but I have a pre order in with Game regardless.

I'll get both the ps5 and series x. I do love new systems. I even have Stadia :)

At the moment all we've really seen is mostly last-gen games being rendered to a higher screen resolution and a higher framerate, like you get with a new GPU on PC.

But once we start seeing some proper next gen games, when we get the likes of Naughty Dog pushing the new hardware to the limits, we should see some really stunning results. The NBA 2k1 trailer is eye opening, as they seem to be one of the few developers who've gone to the trouble of creating new assets for the new consoles. And that's hardly a world beating game, so I expect we should start to see much more impressive work than that soon.

Been a long time since I played an Assassins Creed game. What are expectations like for Valhalla?

If you haven't played Origins or Odyssey, you'll be more inclined to like it I reckon. I think it will divide the current community, as I've no doubt I'll love it (Odyssey was close to GOTY for me), but some people may already be burned out by the new direction they've taken, ie: less AC and more jumpy stabby kill kill. Maybe there'll be more assassiney stuff this time, but I doubt it, you're a Viking, not exactly well known for stealth killing an entire camp, more known for stealth killing a few and then balls to the wall murderfest.

But I'm excited. Will most likely be the first PS5 game I play. If I can get a console.

Expectations are high, I believe. Odyssey, the last one, was very enjoyable.

Expect a ton of unboxings of the PS5 tomorrow.

Origins was quite a breakaway from the formula of the last few, Odyssey built on that and is only my all time favourite games, the DLC is great fun and huge.

I’m looking forward to Valhalla, it may be somewhat more of the same for those of us who’ve kept up with the last few, but it should feel really fresh for you, hopefully.

Are the first embargo’s up tomorrow? I hope they’re not as limited as to what they can cover as the first XBSX ones were :(

Was the Series X first embargo not the one about BC and all?
Though I see the retail version has been sent out and their unboxing is Friday.

The embargo for PS5 tomorrow is just the unboxing.

That's the rumblings on Resetera alright.

PS I Love You XOXO, a PS Podcast I listen to was taking a ton of questions today for their show tomorrow, so we might get more than the unboxing, but not too much more.

I can unequivocally say that the thought of watching someone unbox something I won't get my hands on for another few weeks does not appeal to me in the slightest. I'm saving that for my own unboxing! I won't be watching anything feature or design wise from now until I get my hands on it. It's like getting a secret present, but being told what's in it.

Unboxing embargo looks like it will lift in a few hours at 12pm Irish time. I'm looking forward to it as it will give a better idea of size in different setups.

Edit: beaten to it by Eoin.

They should easily all go live at midday so, no doubt all pre recorded but the person who might do an unboxing live with comments open will be the most popular on Youtube I would say
