I wouldn't think the UI is gonna be revealed by burger king... This is likely just gonna be an announcement of a "Win a PS5 by eating burger king" competition.

    We have a weiner

I really have no idea why people were expecting Burger King to be involved with a UI reveal.

That is fair enough, but they really should let people know the process.

I can guarantee you 100% from experience it will involve registering your existing camera on their site and filling in your delivery address. They really should be letting people do it soon though.

I think that came about because the wee sound that plays when he opens the bag is supposed to be the start up sound of the console.

Yea I get that but it’s still a bit of a mad leap

I assume this is aimed at me as I posted the original tweet. As I said, I took it from a thread on reddit where the discussion centred on the revealing of the UI which was rumoured for Thursday even before the BK Tweet was posted. The latter seemed to confirm the earlier rumour for some, and I posted it without reading the whole conversation.

The removal of wishlisting is odd tbh. It's a genuinely useful feature.

The PSP store is closed on device level though, that would render them all useless?

Antonline is the shop that reported more consoles but only in bundle form. Never heard of them but sounds dodgy. Hopefully there is another round though.

If you have bought a shiny new Sony XH90 tv for your Playstation 5 the firmware update just popped up and it includes the full hdmi 2.1 120hz/120fps compatibility and eARC support along with some other improvements!

Slight tangent, but can someone explain to me how a 50/100hz native panel can be firmware updated to 120hz?
Is it the chip upscaling images, like my Sony TV that's 100hz, but the blurb tells me it's motionflow 1000hz?
Or is it the panel was always 120hz, limited to 100/50hz? :)

    What's the model number?
It's not about upscaling the image, the TV has to be able to accept 120 frames from the console every second. If the hdmi connector cannot handle the bandwidth (from 40GB per second at 4k) then it can't do 4k 120fps.
1080p at 120fps might still be possible but you'd need to check your TV model specifications.

I'm on about these XH90's, specifically.
If they can flicker at 120fps, why'd it have to be enabled with an after production patch?

My own TV's a bit old now, X8509C so I don't think there's any hope.
Haven't got an update in nearly 2 years :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,529 ✭✭✭✭Varik

The 100/120hz is just pal/ntsc holdover to ensure less distortion with older content and live TV.

    The panels support 120hz.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,662 ✭✭✭marcbrophy

Okay so they aren't 100hz panels that have been software updated to appear to flicker higher, they were always 120hz panels!
    That makes sense then :)

I wonder will there be some level of support for my panel, that will max out at 100 native?

Your TV seems to do 120hz but only upto 1080p, and 4k @ 60Hz
