Is pre order on scan.co.uk a guarantee before Christmas guys? TIA

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,341 ✭✭✭dan786

Scan wont have them till January. They dont get any allocation.

They are allowinh unlimited preorders as they clearly state they cant guarantee a delivery date.

No guarantee as far as I can see, I've emailed them and will let you know if they can give a rough idea.

Personally I'll be buying from an Irish outlet.

Sending money to the UK with the on-coming recession, doesn't sit right with me.

As much as I would never trust Gamestop, what is sold out now is likely just the day one shipments. I think you will be fine for Christmas.

Lad I know who pre-ordered in June from GS was told it wasn't guaranteed before next may but that could've just been a pissed off staff getting asked the same question 50 times an hour

Guys I've just talked to an Argos manager & they said Argos Ireland are not doing pre orders like UK. Has anyone actually seen Irish Argos pre orders confirmed?

Scan dont get any allocation from Sony. They say on their site they cant guarantee a date at all.

They are taking preorders since last night and still im stock. They are not limiting the numbers as they dont have to guarantee a date. So they will take whatever preorders they get and fufil them whenever they get stock next year

That is correct. You need to get on the site the night before to order it like normal with Argos for in store pick up

Its usually around midnight when their site gets updated with stock

Ask him when they will be on the system sure.

So I'm guessing there'll be overnight queuing? As someone who hasn't preordered I'd have to this to secure one!

Well you wold hope that they don't all get reserved at midnight the night before and that staff haven't held them all.

I wonder how far back you would have to have "pre-ordered" in order to be told you're guaranteed, or if they're just gonna **** all y'all over and not have any sort of queue system based on how long you've had a "pre-order".

Homestly, I'm happy to hear that they just aren't loading up on pre-orders they know they can't fulfill unlike places like Gamestop.

I wonder. Have a back up pre order with Smyth's just in case

I have one in my basket with Argos.co.uk now. I got right to the payment stage but I didn't pay as I don't need it.

I used Parcel Motel and their postcode when browsing the site. I also registered so I'm logged into Argos.

I've no idea if they'll cancel a Parcel Motel order but it's worth a punt!

When you go to check out they are not available

Gamestop removed me from their queue with little fuss.
I wouldn't mind buying from them locally and may still do. At least the money stays in Ireland somewhat but wasn't happy with how they went about it.
After getting caught up in the hype I preordered on their site and only later discovered they couldn't guarantee anything.

Ah possibly. I got right to the payment page when it looks for debit card number, etc so it looks very promising to complete the order. Too good to be true!

I'm going to cancel the transaction now so it will be interesting to see if one appears back in stock for delivery using BT364PE as the postcode.

    Scan updated ps5 page

1 per customer and placing a Pre Order does not guarantee stock on launch but all orders are processed in date/time order of first come first served basis and will be shipped when stock is available.

Guy get ready tonight and tomorrow for second wave of perorders according to www.gamesradar.com.Take with a grain of salt of course.

I assume anyone who managed to get a pre-order from Smyths will be guaranteed one on launch?

Also, what’s people’s experience with home delivery from them, do they generally deliver on launch day?
