One of the best games I've been at in McHale park last night. Brilliant atmosphere.

All stephenites players seem to have been released from the panel. Except Clarke who is injured?

Anybody know when the semi final tickets go on sale?

Just on the penalty, I think he should be backing his reactions instead of guessing.

Think most keepers guess nowadays, a half decent penalty and the won't be able to react in time. I'm sure the goalkeepers union would have an opinion on this.

I though Eoin o Donoghue was excellent when he came on
And said at the time that the way Higgins was “marking “ again the black card might have been a blessing
Higgins just can not mark. I wonder will he be given a role further up the pitch with Jason Doc out
Now that the hangover is kicking in the enormity of that injury is hitting home
He is such an important player . He won a load of kickouts

Looks to be a combination of turnovers and tackles won.

To my eyes sadly it looked like a cruciate
    Huge huge loss
It was no coincidence that our worst period on kickouts was after he went off

Higgins had switched onto McBrearty as he was attacking. Not sure why, perhaps Barret couldn't cover. Plus it was in the danger zone, close to goal.

Zippy is vunerable here and that was same spot and goal end where Murtagh did the damage for the rossies. He had to take that one on the chin as he didn't lay a glove on him.

I'd have him on the team every time, just not near the full back line.

I know one of the attending paramedics that was at the game and she said it was a dislocated kneecap.

There might be more extensive damage done, I don't know.

That's him out for the rest of the year anyway.

Jesus thats not exactly a common injury and it would be similar to Parsons ?
Makes you wonder about the playing surface now

The injury is here at around 3 minutes 11 seconds. It appears that the Donegal player held his leg as he was twisting around causing the damage.

The clip also shows the big refereeing decisions that went against us, penalty, red card etc.

I thought Parsons injury was a double leg break?

I don't think Doc would be out for as long as Tom.

Fairly sure he dislocated knee as well doing extensive ligament damage

Tom Parsons dislocated his knee and tore several ligaments in different parts of his leg.
I suspect the Jason Doherty injury could be something similar. Apparently it won't be clear until later in the week. He has to have a scan.

Doherty could be a big loss. Himself and Durcan put in a lot of the hard work but don't get the national recognition compared to others.

If it's "just" a dislocated kneecap then it wouldn't be too bad, 2-3 months I'd say. There is likely some ligament damage too unfortunately.

That was a hard watch at times yesterday. But how can you not be proud of the boys yesterday. Showed lots of fight and stood up when it mattered. Write them off at your peril.

It was one of the best days out in Castlebar for a long, long time. It's rare you get a game of such high stakes in August. Great buzz in Hogs after the game too, everyone in great form.

All the best to Doherty too. It's another big loss for us, thought he was having a great game too before the injury.

I believe these players deserve a bit more than this. Let me put a more positive slant on your summation. Kerry beat Doneagal, we get over Meath and then a 2 week break until the big one in Castlebar. Ruane & Doc back into the squad. An unfancied Mayo rise to the occasion and send there Tir Conaill men packing. Then, the semi-final takes a different complexion. Dublin massive favourites and Mayo with nothing to lose. Essentially a shot to nothing against the greatest team of all time. Licking our lips we'd be. Win draw or lose at that stage you could say the season was a success. A fitting send off for Andy, Boyler & god knows whoever else. Let's keep going with these lads, don't write them off just yet

    Nailed it

On holidays but managed to catch the game in an Irish pub. Hard to see as much, but a super win. Intensity is absolutely incredible

Most likely a bridge to far next week but regardless yesterday will live long in the memory. After a very iffy championship it's great to have a performance like that thrown in. Still issues up front - but that's always the way and we make up for it in determination all over the field

Should be a massive occasion now next Saturday

Great win yesterday, shooting wayward but tbtal improve, such intensity
No team puts Dublin under pressure, Cork treid to bu couldn't sustain it, Tey had the measure of Dublin for long periods of that game too,
roscommon and Tyrone dint even try,
Can't wait for Saturday, match of the summer I think

Anyone's attendance update for yesterday? Or are the Season Tickets pidgeons still in Mick Byrnes after the game?

D o connor season over unfortunately...Pulled his quad in training

    What's the story re same?

Has anybody had this news definitively confirmed?

Diarmuid was'nt in the 26 yesterday but I heard zilch yesterday re this additional injury.

Otherwise are we to presume his wrist simply required additional healing time?

Ticket prices a bit steep next Saturday. €50 for the stands although kids are just €5.
