“I’m a f****** international lawyer” let me out of here

There's somebody who'll be maxing out the detox program of her private health insurance, and so much more. There's a distinct sense of somebody right on the edge (at best) to smoke on a plane in 2019. A bit like that Michael Douglas film where he gets out of a car in the middle of a traffic jam and walks away, except on a plane. The “I have done so much for you f****** Indians and f****** Pakistanis, you should be grateful to me.” was a nice little addition to the sense of entitlement.

Irish lawyer admits assault, racist tirade on Air India flight

This is precisely the sort of aggressive little bulldog seething with fury that the big firms need, God bless them. Expect the job offers to fly in once she has finished her ten years in detox in a Buddhist monastery.

That first paragraph is illegible and unnecessary. You don't need to mix up so many visual images to express your view, I assume, that racial abuse is bad.

Seething with fury; angry and illogical rants, and in need of some R&R time in a Buddhist monastery? You ever do any self-reflection, pal?

I've encountered a lot of lawyers with an overinflated ego and tremendous sense of their own ability and self-worth bordering on mental illness, or possibly personality disorder. I'm not overly surprised at this braying ass. :pac:

I'd start to reflect if I ever addressed somebody as "pal". At any rate, coming from the guy who never fails to rant about his ex-wife on this forum, you really shouldn't initiate ad hominems here from that particular glasshouse.

    Meh just a lawyer

My daddy is the richest partner in KPMG was a much better rant :p

She's vehemently anti-Israel and is involved in the BDS movement, but for some reason the Irish Times don't mention that. If she was involved with a pro-Israeli group you can bet that they would highlight that.

If she was smart she'd have done it on a flight to Ireland.
Unlike that dangerous "equal before the law" nonsense they indulge in England our judges know how to give Lawyers who break the law treatment appropriate to their status:

If there was ever a need for a public Stone Cold Stunner that is it.
They probably should have filled her with wine so help her pass out.

if you were on that flight and in close proximity to her would you get involved or just leave her rant away.
I can just imagine people trying to sleep with the urge to kill rising with every word spoken.

    Where's the racism?

I'd have thought that her screaming “You f****** arses, you f****** Indian money-grabbing c****” might have been a tiny hint of some racial prejudice?

The trial judge's comments also might be a clue
Chairing the bench, Robert Della-Sala told O’Broin: “You clearly put the safety of the aircraft in jeopardy by smoking. You were disruptive to other passengers who must have found the whole experience quite shocking.

“The disruption was clearly over a long period of time, the level of racist abuse was prolonged and unwarranted — there’s no excuse for that."

Going on a rant against Indians does not automatically make you a racist. She didn't call them pakis.

She was a stupid drunk bitch but not a racist.

Morto for her. I'd say she is regretting this big time herself anyway once sobered up. But maybe other substances were in the mix too, who knows? Not that it is is any excuse for such behaviour either.

We all do mad things now and then, but rarely at 33k feet in the air!

Cabin crew are great dealing with this really. Probably more than we know.

You can usually get away with an awful lot if you say you had a few drinks while on strong painkillers, far worse than mere ranting.

You have a very weird take on what racism is. Hint: It's more than getting someone's country wrong.

I admire your confidence in your opinions, in a way. The trial judge had access to all the evidence and spent years and years qualifying to make these kind of rulings. But you've read one article about it and you know better! It's almost impressive.

There is but it stops when you get drunk. She had three bottles of wine before they called a halt to her drinking session.

I feel a bit sorry for her after reading that, but at the same time these kind of people are their own worst enemy.

Trips to India to source "alternative" therapies and cannabis oil, while refusing surgery on the NHS.
I don’t believe in cutting into Cancer and I was aware that BCC just doesn’t grow so quickly.
BTW if you listen to the start of her rant she says she is "an international lawyer for the Palestinian people" and "doesn't get paid".
That pretty much says it all.

Just another deluded half-wit champagne socialist.

Our company deals with some patent lawyers as well as physicists, biochemists, quantum chemists, surgeons ect. The patent lawyers are the only team that include members you cannot actually talk to without suspending reality. More or less everyone here is working in a substantially more complex field and they're the ones that are arrogant to the point of mental illness as you say.
