That's means Duffy can't take the car either as his waistline would prohibit him from driving it around Duffy Estate.

I think it's a load of BS. If you pay your fee to enter the draw and you win the car. I can't see them refusing to pay out the prize just because you can't drive.

That solicitor's letter sounds like gobbledegook...sotospeak.

a lot of credit unions have had 'questionable' car draws over the last few years ...

    one example

Our local CU has a photograph of the car, the winner, his or her spouse, the car salesman and a member of CU staff displayed after every car draw. I think a lot more people take the car than the cash.

Maybe they just have to be photographed with car and then after can take the cash.

I'd suspect the local supplying car dealer would want to be in the picture (quite literally) every time.

Be careful what you wish for missus. Next year, Duffy with case of intellectually challenged person who has been diddled out of thousands of euro, because they were able to sign up themselves.

No offence but I know lots of ppl with Down syndrome and sorry but any of the ppl I know wouldn’t be able to buy a house or pay repayments.

Some are very able and active.

Some would barely be able to speak. It’s sad but that’s reality.

Maybe if they had the full amount of the house the bank would accept this?

I’m guessing the legality would be that an adult “imbecile” would legally need to have a guardian or else be a “ward of court”.

Joe had no problem maligning the Credit Union with out finding out what the advice was, but as soon as somebody criticises the solicitor's advice he backs down and starts asking for the advice, in fear of a court case. Cowardly broadcasting.

He basically says what ever he wants about somebody he doesn't fear litigation from.
