If you applied for Stream 1 (devops) then that's probably a good sign!

    Me neither.

Digital Solutions Implementation Management - w/c 8th April

Haven't heard anything back on this stream yet.

  • Registered Users Posts: 43 irumudikkilli

    results are out

Didn't get shortlisted which I'm a bit surprised at. Heard only 200 applied between the 2 streams

Best of luck to everyone who did get shortlisted

I wasn't shortlisted either for the Digital Solutions stream (waiting on the Infrastructure stream) and I have asked for a formal review. I was shortlisted in the AP Open with the same ICT "skill set" (which presumably is transferrable to other areas but not within ICT!)

Are they replying one by one? You'd think they'd build two lists and fire the responses out simultaneously.

havent heard of a single person shortlisted

    requesting feedback

quite surprised not to get through the first hurdle at least tbh

Ha ha, what are we trying to get ourselves into!

Same experience as other posters. Very disappointed and not a little surprised to not be shortlisted. Many years experience including management in IT and hold the requisite qualifications noted and more...

Feel they may be looking specifically for quite technical people with specific technical skills and practical experience- hence the splitting the stream into digital solutions and infrastructure. Then again, the candidate booklet did reference for smaller organisations the AP role might be appointed as Head of the ICT function for that organisation, which would inevitably require a mix of the skills from both streams.

What strikes me, though, is that having the technical skills is not the same thing as having the skills to manage those who have those technical skills.

And they did advertise for managers highlighting competencies like leadership, change management, delivery of complex projects, innovation...didn't they?

    Have requested feedback too.

Very disappointed as saw this as a great opportunity.

Yeah on the face of it, things like vendor management, team management, program and project delivery lend themselves more to the generalist rather than technical specialist skillset. I was of the opinion that a lot of these will go to internal or preferred candidates.

Yes, exactly. I mean, I've actually done the job (moreso on the infrastructure rather than devops/digital solutions side, admittedly) for years, and it's not like I'd be the one working as a dev! The skillsets you mention are the ones that are needed, not necessarily technical skills (beyond what's necessary to detect bull**** from vendors, usually :P )

Did you all get emails today saying you weren’t successful?

I haven’t heard anything yet, only applied for Dev stream. My surname is toward the end of alphabet though.

Yes I think a number of people (including myself) got notified yesterday- so in your case no news is probably good news!

Dammit, I deleted my message too early. Does it say who to contact if you want feedback?

Same boat here. Dev only and no news yet. Sorry to hear about all that didn't get shortlisted so far.

Got a message there for digital solutions...

"Batch 1 represents those candidates who demonstrated sufficiently strong evidence on their application forms to be called to interview immediately. Batch 2 represents those candidates who demonstrated sufficient evidence to be placed on a reserve panel.

Your name has been placed on the reserve panel. In the event that it is necessary to call further candidates to interview this office will be in contact with you."

be nice if PAS ever bothered their arses letting people know how they were going to go about these things

making you go and ask for feedback instead of sending/publishing it is also a bit of a liberty in this day and age imo

word is out to the batch successful in getting through to interview

    good luck to all

So.... I'm on the reserve panel. Which is a new one for me. The 'you' re not quite good enough but if our plans don't work out we'll give you a call '. So i' m wondering what is quite good enough. I'm a public servant with 34 years experience, the last 21 years in IT. I've been working at the grade just below APO for 16 years in a very wide variety of roles incl. PM and IT Manager for Departments with greater than 1,000 staff. I have a degree from the IPA, a masters from DCU and among other industry quals. I have a data science certificate from MIT which I have applied to one of my Departments with very positive results. You name it.... I've probably done it and it's all on my form.

And I don't fit the profile.

But it's OK as I will pursue other interests...... PAS is a waste of time. No transparency.

Shortlisted for interview mid-May, thankfully. Best of luck to all that got through, and hopefully they will call batch 2 before long.

You sound like a shoein for the role with your internal experience alone. Best of luck to all in the interview stages.

Had a chance to cool off. Wondering if PAS has outsourced shortlisting to an A I service. Lots of them about. Pseudo science at best.

I got on the interview panel for Stream 1, happening in first week of May. The one thing I'd like to know is how structured the interview will be. Will it be focused entirely on the competencies or more general.

The last AP interview I had threw me off because they barely referenced the form at all.

everything im hearing and seeing on the results of this online and irl seems to suggest that PAS have shortlisted on some unexpected wildcard.

Would love to know what the criteria they are using.

Also i thought they were announcing results for the Infrastructure stream this week?

Digital/dev was supposed to be last week and infrastructure this week; given that they were a week late with the former and there are now two bank holidays on the way, plus appeals and requests for feedback from this week, I'd predict the end of next week now for infrastructure results.
