Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. The fact that Matt seems to have drawn all his made-to-measure patterns himself, instead of using off-the-shelf ones, is incredible.

He has to get brownie points for that, surely?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,545 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Ah, I'm just delighted with that for a result!

What a lovely programme - feelgood all the way.

Between that and the Repair Shop beforehand, I'll hit the bed tonight with a lovely warm fuzzy feeling.

Surprised but delighted for Clare. I really thought Nicole would have the edge.

Matt's made to measure was amazing.

Delighted Clare won but I thought it was brilliant to have matts boyfriend as his model and the dress was fabulous
    Love joe as the host

An absolutely joyous series a worthy winner I thought but Nicole ran her very close, her use of colour wow.
Claire was just so consistent and neat her last dress was so classy.
Matt did himself justice with that last dress as well very cool, and his boyfriend certainly worked it lol

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,263 ✭✭✭Poochie05

Think Claire had to win for consistency but Nicole gave her a run for her money. I liked her love of trimmings and taking chances with difficult fabrics, where as Claire was a bit more regimented.
Matt's made to measure was wow but would have been unfair had he won based on that given both the others had more hits than misses.
I agree, Joe is a great host.

    What a plonker!

Did he just blag his way on or does he actually see?
I haven't sewn in years but I would have thought they all should be able to follow the basic pattern. Assume its first day nerves!

    Ha!

There's a worrying amount of animals featuring in this so far..... (and I'm an animal lover!)

I'd never get a tap of work done in that workshop - I'd spend the day watching boats going up and down the river!

I like Adam's paisley chiffon one. Looks like a holiday dress - if anyone remembers holidays!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,545 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

    The first two were nice!

These all look far better on humans than in the pictures....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,545 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

    Rebecca's wasn't very bouffée!

Fitted down past the hips, thought it was meant to hide a multitude??

The sewing standard wasn't very good.

Two or three of them could easily have gone...I'm actually surprised they were chosen to start with.

I liked serena's top and dress.

I wouldn't have chosen that dress as garment of the week....though I think it was the colour that really wasn't to my taste.

The dinner lady and cat lady seem slightly bonkers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,545 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

It looked kind of like they went out and rounded up the first 10 people who'd agree to be on the show, tbh!

Shockingly low standard, and some right headcases among them (even allowing for the "personalities" they usually select for these shows)

I can only assume that Covid forced them to lower their standards this year....

Still, I'd rather have it on than not!!

Oh I think it will be entertaining :D

The 3 guys raph, maths teacher and cruise entertainer know their stuff, serena too.

The others are comedy purposes :)

The young Scottish girl (was she Serena? can't remember her name) is def one to watch, if she can overcome her nerves.

    Very fun first episode.
Love Joe Lycett and the judges.

Biggest shock that woman who went is 62?!? Jeepers I would have said 40s!

It isn't quite my favourite reality show (still pottery throwdown!) But still really enjoyable

    Doesn't she!
    Must be the burlesque

Episode was abit boring I thought.

I liked the garment of the week, but the top button had me totally perplexed...I liked that neckline but I was questioning should the button be closed, did they make a mistake in measurement. I think I would have left that neckline without the"flap"

Again I think Serena, cruise guy and raph are the main contenders.

Enjoyed it....Damian sould really start reading instructions..twice now they've said it to him..he'll be in their radar now....a few cock-ups this week.....Serena's dress was class alright..flap or not...:)

Aww, those romper suits are soooooo cute!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,101 ✭✭✭Max Headroom

Sorry but i have to call foul on the garment of the week...the brief was a Unisex childs rain coat.......i dont know if ANY parent could get their little boy to wear a coat with rainbows , unicorns and a pink ponytail....
The inside-outside one was a clear winner for me..

    No offence to anyone....

I just thought the ponytail would get soaking and gross, whether on a boy or a girl. Just a bit impractical imo. I loved the one with the clear layer over the fish. It was really cute.

Andrew's reversible one was the only one that looked like it wasn't horribly misshapen, and even it looked far too tight on the shoulders/upper body..... I thought the fit was awful on them all!

Yes they all looked very ill fitting!

I really don't like seeing big embellishments like that on kids clothes. I always think they'll catch in something...swing/slide door etc and give themselves an awful injury.

    Plus getting filthy.

Serena is looking fairly unstoppable in this now, unless she has a major cock-up on some garment.

I'd say the two judges would love to wring Damien's neck at this stage! I know i would!!

I love Esme more and more every week :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,995 ✭✭✭Princess Calla

Can't believe Damien is still there!!

I thought the concept of Serenas dress was lovely but I thought the front was too long.

Andrews dress with those bows, Jesus they'd wreck your head having them on your wrist, seriously impractical.

I liked Rebecca's dress but I'd wear that to the office, the office party I'd like something more dressy, but a good dress to bring you from day to evening if you weren't out "for the night" .

Damien's dress was very "Jessica Pearson" of Suits. I liked it, it's probably the only item he's made that I thought he deserves to be on the show.

Was that the green dress with lace overlay? I thought that was absolutely fabulous! Waaaay better than Raph's, I was sure it'd get garment of the week!

    Yeah it was.

I liked Faries one too, the purple dress, very elegant.

I think Raph got his for technical difficulty, but to me between the colour and brocade that was more a wedding dress for registry office/second marriage/older marriage than an office party.

I think Rafe will win although I didn’t like his dress , or serena’s
I thought Rebecca’s was lovely. I didn’t like damians but I thought it was well made and his model is fabulous - she rocked it

There's a part of me who thinks he's a "plant" . He should have gone weeks ago.

While Andrew made mistakes he also made an effort. Damien's scarf challenge was absolutely take the pi$$ , (though I did actually like it minus the ribbon and flowers) but not a whole lot of thought went into it.

Not many left know. Unless Serena sets fire to the place or sticks a scissors in a judge this has to be hers to lose
