    Question on Mods.
If I have a licence for same can they be posted if I buy secondhand? Are there any regulations to buying selling and owning them or is it just for their use?
    Thanks, B

    Yes to both.

Section 1 of the 1925 act (as amended by section 26(g)(ii) of the 2006 Act) states that a silencer is a firearm.

Section 10(2) of the 1925 act says you may not sell a firearm to any, except an RFD, without the person having valid and current authorisation in the form of a firearm certificate, or the "S" in the cases of suppressors.

So you can buy one if you show you have the "S" and the person selling must get a copy of the license, or at the very least see it, before selling. Otherwise it's no different to selling a rifle or shotgun to someone without a license.

Once all this has been satisfied the seller can post it. An Post will ship firearm/parts/ammo as long as it's only within the state. Not outside.
