You've got DM's- She sees who is trying to message her and blocks him straight away, the end.

Home Alone- They realise that they left Kevin at home, ring him and make sure he is OK. They Skype everyday and they have a smart bell which notifies them straight away if there is someone trying to break in and ring the cops. Kevin is oblivious to all this because he's either too busy on his phone or playing Xbox with his friends.

Ferris Buellers Day Off- Ferris is tagged in several photos on his ditch day, including the car he stole, thus ruining his elaborate plan to not get caught, gets expelled. The sausage King of Chicago also sues for impersonation.

Any films focusing on jailed people long term, they'd be out quick here in Ireland.

Mobile phones alone let alone other modern technology would make the plot of most films of the past redundant. No country for old men springs to mind.

A belief in gender identity involves a level of faith as there is nothing tangible to prove its existence which, as something divorced from the physical body, is similar to the idea of a soul. - Colette Colfer

Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen: Elizabeth Bennett meets Mr. Darcy, Googles him and finds out he's loaded. So she seduces him, pokes holes in the condoms and gets pregnant. Mr Darcy denies the child is his, so she drags him on the Jeremy Vine show, which proves that he's the father, so they get married after the child is born. They divorce two years later, with his estate split in two, plus he has to pay child support for the next 18 years.

From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch’.

There was an ad for Google ( I think) with McCauley Culkin a while back where he's Kevin mccallister, but it's set in modern times.

For some reason, the idea of contacting his parents never arose

    Lord of the rings.

Frodo after being tasked with bringing the one ring to Mordor opens his Uber app and gets a €40 uber estimate.

He asks Merry and Pippin to come along so so they can have a few scoops afterwards in Isengard. Isengard is a dive bar which has become super trendy.

Upon arriving at Mt. Doom they take the cable car to the top but had to fork out another €15 because Mt. Doom is a tourist trap and as expected they're being ripped off.

Upon reaching the top they throw the ring into the fires of Mt. Doom and proceed to post a few selfies to Instagram #worldtraveler #onering #believe

Snow White and the seven genetically smaller humans.

Her seven workers' diminutive stature and idiosyncrasies cannot be referred to in a disparaging way. "Sleepy" is only that way inclined due to an undiagnosed medical condition, and it's not cool to bring it up. And "Sneezy" wasn't vaccinated as a kid, but it was his parent's choice so it has to be respected.

Jimmy Rabbitte, a hipster, is having an imaginary interview with Graham Norton while riding his one speed bike through Temple Bar,

He describes how he once set up a facebook appreciation page for early Seventies electronic music and after arranging a WhatsApp meet up in his dads microbrewery, he describes how he once upon a time created a grass roots Dublin electronic band calling themselves The Commitments. Their first gig which is at the opening ceremony of another Donut shop in Dublin becomes a massive local success. The band comprises of a motley mixture of a neckbeard called Dean, a goth called Imelda, Natalie who works in Penneys, a Luas driver called Deco, Ginesh and Buresh who work for Google and Mickah Wallace, who acts as their security and who you do not want to fcuk with. Another member is Joey 'the Grips' Fagan, a mysterious teetotal former roadie who entralls the group with sordid tales of working with Avicii and Tiesto in far flung places while offering wisdom, shagging Imelda which provokes jealousy from the others but he at least is handy for spins to gigs in his Dacia people carrier.

Their breakout hit uses a sample from Mack Rice's 1965 hit 'Mustang Sally'. It is a call and response between Deco and both Imelda and Natalie. Unfortunately at the peak of their fame i.e. an appearance on Today with Daithi and Maura, the lyric contained in the song i.e. "Ride Sally Ride" which is repeated exactly one hundred times in the 3 minute between the vocalists provokes a deluge of complaints leading to accusations that it promotes sexual aggression and social media coins the hashtag #SallyToo.

Jimmy goes on the Late Late Show with Ryan Tubridy. It doesn't go well. Joining him on the panel is a tearful Indo journalist called Sally McGrath from Longford. Her powerful story about the time in 1995 when a Norrie in Cork told her she was 'a flah like" in Kent Station makes a deep impact on the audience and viewers. She says Jimmy's song triggers panic in her whenever it is played. It leads to an immediate public backlash. Some radio programmes bleep the lyric which considering it is repeated one hundred times reduces the song to sounding like morse code instead. Other stations ban the song completely affecting sales but the bleeped version itself becomes a breakout hit reaching #5 in the iTunes download chart and described by the Irish Times as an 'avant garde masterpiece'. This attracts the attention of Isao Tomita, a japanese pioneer of electronic music who is in Dublin for a flying visit and who Joey worked with in the 1980's. He manages to persuade him into playing with the band in Whelans pub in Dublin but Tomita shows up too late. Jimmy as manager has in the meantime invested the profits into Bitcoin due to his FOMO. After squandering most of the bands profits coupled with infighting The Commitments disband while Jimmy reminisces about what might have been in an imaginary interview with Joe Duffy on Lahvlahn regaling Joe about his all too brief foray into electronic music and their fleeting touch of fame.
