I still have no City players...

Would Kane > Ings and Brooks > Sterling for a -4 be worth it?

Ive been hovering over it all week but cant shake the feeling that Kane will punish me as soon as I sell him

Why can't you sell transfers for 4 points. :( Seems like a logical rule to add to the game.

    1st draft WC.....
    Alisson Boruc
Doherty Laporte Wan-Bissaka Kiko Fermenia Bednarek
    Salah Snodgrass Pedro Sane Richarlison
    Laca Kane Ings

midfield looks either nailed on or droppable every time i look at it....

I would sell mine for 4 this week.
That would be an interesting addition
However you should only have the option to sell one FT which expires if you dont sell it the week after it has could have been used initially
Otherwise you could have dead teams reawakening to a bounty of points mid season :D

Yeah, only being able to sell your soon to be expired transfer makes sense.

Basically I want a rule to help me in tbe predicament in in now where I am in danger of throwing a free transfer away.

Yeah, given you can only ever have a max of 2 then you could only ever sell two or it could even be restricted to just one when you have 2 FTs and don't need to use one.

In my 6/7 years playing it this is the first and probably last time I will be in this situation :D
It is a very good idea though

I guess everyone getting a free 4 points at the end of the season doesn't really make sense.

Was going to do Fraser for Snodgrass but going to bank it as Fraser has a decent fixture at home to Brighton.

    Kolasinac -> Alderweireld

I really, really, really, really want Trippier, but with that groin issue I think he may miss two of the festive games and not just one.

Toby will probably miss one too, but my subs of Bennett (ful, tot, CPL) or Wan-Bissaka (CAR, CHE, wol) should be able to bail me out for one gameweek if I get lucky and he plays GW20, and Vertonghen's injury helps his game time too.

Spurs have the best medium-long term fixtures in the league and it's not even close. I want/need Kane and a defender.

just waiting on Bellerin news before doing Bellerin ----> Toby, but I think I might do the transfer regardless, and just admit my -4 to get Bellerin in last week might have been a mistake.

Wondering if Sane to Hazard is worth the -4 hit , would also mean swapping Jimenez for Kamara ?!

Seriously considering going without a big hitter up the front. I have Kane at the moment.

If I go without him I can upgrade Brooks to Sane. It will give me a front 8 of:

    Salah, Sane, Riccy, Anderson, Hazard
    Jimenez, Chicharito, Wilson(maybe)

No cash to upgrade Kola. Digne is the obvious replacement but now looking at Lovren...

It's a viable strategy short-term, but by the end of January:

    - Arnautovic will be back, impacting on Hernandez's playing time in a massive way
    - Anderson may also be affected from same
    - Mendy will be back, affecting Sane

You're also going to have a selection headache every week and inevitably bench significant points.

I think it's better balanced by keeping Kane, sticking with your 4 midfielders and downgrading one (probably Anderson out of those if I had to choose), and playing 3-4-3. Alternatively, 3-5-2 is actually a good shout with Kane plus a Jimenez/Wilson type alongside him and rolling with those midfielders.

EDIT - just saw Brooks would be your extra midfielder if keeping Kane, sorry. Jimenez and Wilson as the 2 with the aforementioned 5 in midfield is viable too.

Yeah - I got Kolasinac in on wildcard, got 8 from HUD from him and Wan-Bissaka off the bench for him with 6 last week, so I'm happy to take that, the £0.1m, and move on now.

Glad to hear you're leaning towards Alderweireld. A good sign for me given how well you're doing!

    lol.

the only thing that might stop me is having 3 Spurs for a tricky game against Everton, not long after winning a North London Derby.

but i might just go with it, and if Everton score, hopefully Ricky is the one that does it.

So it comes down to Auba (c) and no Sterling OR Sterling (c) and no Auba.

    Not happy with either option!

Just did the crappiest little WC ever, essentially to get Sane in, swap keepers and dump Kola

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,687 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

someone talk me out of Ricky ----> Pedro for -4.

thinking long er term and Doherty & Dunk out for Delph & Targett ?? it is a minus 8 though.... city should keep a clean sheet whereas i don't think doherty will - no net cost affect this week, get my 2 points. dunk was a poor signing and i don't want to keep him but targett looked dangerous at times and saints are averaging 2 goals a game in last 3. his returns are good every time he plays

    what do ye think?

If I had Doherty, I wouldn’t be selling. He won’t keep a clean sheet tonight but he could get attacking returns. Liverpool have injuries at the back.

Now have 9.6 to spend on 2 Defs as Kola/Vinagre won't play.

Digne is 4.9 and I like the cut off his jib.
    4.7 left. Hmmm...

    Clyne? :D

Or go mad and get Tarkowski

So Richarlison was a bit ill but will be OK.

Are people selling on the back of this illness?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 266 ✭✭mcgooch

    Digne is 4.9 i

    Digne is 5.0

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,463 ✭✭✭✭km79

Gonna do Murphy to Pedro with one FT
Undecided whether to bank second or so mitrovic to Rashford
Problem with that is if I want to downgrade PEA next week I’ve nobody else I’d really want to get in and mitrovic still have 2 good fixtures unless he gets booked tomorrow which is entirely possible !
Probably best to hold it ?

Actually thinking about it if I get Rashford now it could also cost me a hit next week
    I’ll hold second One

As an owner, I'd be delighted if Richi missed the Spurs game through illness! Evertons fixtures are very close together (least rest between games over Christmas of any team iirc) and is bound to be benched at some stage. I expect nothing from him in the Spurs game so if he missed it he would ready for their easier games.

I agree but feel he will now start this and rested next one

He had two decent chances against City so he could score against anyone. I’m never a fan of benching attacking players even against tougher teams. Danny Ings, for example, scored against City.

Worth it asking a hit to ship Kane out for Auba. Or even Aguero? I hate owning Kane.
