Cancel licence to sell gun

I've sold my rifle, and plan on substituting the licence onto a new licence, but the new gun isnt in stock yet so I dont have a serial number.

The guy I sold the gun to is in the same county, but different super, his FO says I have to call in and cancel my licence before he can process the new licence for him.
That means I'll have to re-apply and pay another €80 when the gun arrives

Anyone have this problem before? I've never had to do it before when selling and substituting licences.

You can both be licensed on the same gun, get him to license the old one then do your sub when your new gun arrives.

I'm aware of that but it seems the FO/super are holding up licences and getting the old owner to cancel their licence.

Change the FCA1 application to a joint license (for the buyer/new guy).
