    600ft asl Macgillycuddy Reeks, Kerry

Since 4 its been wet and wild, but the first storm worthy winds only just arrived. The roar in the mountains is there now and slowly ramping up.

In common with others, the wind has really ramped up in the last few minutes. |Sudden loud gusts and heavy rain on the windows.

Still waiting for this morning's AMSR2 scan to come in, but this was yesterday afternoons scan, with a wide area of up to 70-knot mean speeds associated with Diana's sting jet in the far southwest (time of scan along the bottom of the map).

It's an excellent morning in comparison to yesterday morning here

Really getting going here now - creaking noises from the roof - never a good sign - the letter box flapping and trees bending over in the grey light outside - loud booming gusts - heavy squalls of rain too.
Kerry county council twitter warning of trees down in Inch, Kilgarvan and Fenit - and tidal flooding in Dingle. We still have power though.
Difficult decisions for parents to make re bringing children to school.

Is Dublin due to get hit by this storm? Very calm here in the city this morning just a normal day

Quiet enough in Galway. Not sure when winds and rain peak here but just seems like a typical November morning so far.

Wet, grey morning out there. Rain looked heavy enough while the street light was still on. Harder to see now as it’s so grey! And I’m not going outside until I have to! Wind has been picking up steadily over the last hour or so. Frequent gusts now.
    Wicklow Town.

The storm is starting to effect the south of the country as the number of power outages are increasing.

Eventually Dublin will see some stronger wind gusts but probably not until the wind shifts to a more westerly direction, however some coastal areas could see strong gusts before that too.

Looking out the window, still dark here in Fermoy. It's as if someone is throwing buckets of water at the window.
Very strong winds, but only really started since about 8 am.

Stronger wind than I was expecting this early in Wicklow town. The thoughts of school collections later when it's worse!! Only a yellow warning here too.

The body reacts all by itself to what Saint Patrick, way back in the 5th century, referred to as "The whirling wind's tempestuous shocks.."
