Personally I’d sooner shoot myself in the eyes than watch that ****e. I’d rather endure hours of Dustin the turkey karaoke. :pac:

Is it just me who thinks they should’ve just stayed gone?

id have preferred a scare at bedtime return not the chat show which got old fairly quick, but the twitter brigade would be up in arms being offended.....And that Gahirty wan is deffo not needed....a real life chucky doll who is not funny ….doing impressions with the same voice doesn't make you a impressionist/comedian

Couldn’t even last 10 minutes of the first episode it was that terrible.

I'm surprised it made it past the planning stage given how their act isn't very PC.

Nope, even on daytime children’s tv they were about as funny as having to wipe my arse with a handful of nettles.

A Scare At Bedtime was class but never liked the chatshow, they well overstayed their welcome.

Unfortunate lack of imagination among people who ‘work in the meedja’.

Podge & Rodge are resurrected as a vehicle to launch a new celebrity in the making. No more to it than that. It's worked before.

They hardly launched Ray D'Arcy? Though I'd have tuned in if they launched him to Mars (one way).

Your post makes no sense. Is that really that strange to post about things we dislike?

    Get out.

    Just go.

And take your horrible opinions with you.

    Did you read the OP?

I asked what people thought about it being brought back. A discussion on a discussion board. Heaven forbid.

So what do you like? Name a few things and hopefully there'll be something we can **** all over.

Jaysus you’re a big fan of Rodge and Podge aye?

I'm no hardliner. I appreciate the show well enough, neither love them nor loathe them.

I hope they're well compensated for their work. :)

Not really, I don't care that much for the chatshow, it's alright sometimes. But the Scare at Bedtime was wonderful tv. One of the few great things RTE have ever produced.

Completely agree. It is most likely being used to promote Doireann Garrihy. Before you know it she will be fronting everything.

Like the show or not aside, there is one factor the production behind these reboots don't seem the realise. These shows were popular in a different time.

The people who watched this stuff grew up, interests change etc and the target age group is different to the ones who watched it back then. They haven't had to keep up with the times over the years and as such fall back to the formula that worked then but that's unlikely to work today.

It's like (if they were all alive) new father Ted espisodes or friends (by god I hate friends) doing another series. It just wouldn't be popular outside of some nostalgia.

I am surprised this is back.

Or they completely over did it with too many shows that relied on crude jokes that got old very quickly.

It ran originally for 3 years. Someone didn't get tired of it very quickly...

The 8 year break in the middle will be what see this not be a long run.

Sure if you don't like it don't watch it. Plenty of other things to watch.

You can only go one way to mars, may as well send Tubridy with him as well as BBBBertie.

Remember when Podge first came along (without Rodge), he didn't have any hair, and was a fairly creepy character? And then, after a while, it all went downhill...

I'm sure he meant yer wan Garrihy. Ray was around before Podge and Rodge. Even before The Den, there was Jo Maxi! :pac:

Actress Aoibhin, 31, PR guru Ailbhe, 29 are her older sisters according to the Sun.

Aoibhin Garrihy who was in Fair City, has been floundering around RTE and TV3 recently. She lists RTE as her general employer on LinkedIn.

Ailbhe Garrihy, while stated as PR guru, appears to be general manager of Dublin Bay Cruises.

The implication of the above uncertain bios would indicate there is nothing overly special by way of talent and therefore it would not surprise me if connections were used to secure roles with RTE.

could her sister or Ian or anyone, just sit her down and tell her she's not talented....RTE you don't have to take on everyones relative, friend, or child of the guy who does maintenance in one of the presenters garden
