The people who watched this stuff grew up, interests change etc and the target age group is different to the ones who watched it back then. They haven't had to keep up with the times over the years and as such fall back to the formula that worked then but that's unlikely to work today. It's like (if they were all alive) new father Ted espisodes or friends (by god I hate friends) doing another series. It just wouldn't be popular outside of some nostalgia. I am surprised this is back.
