    20 Daniel Maartens (4)
    21 Abongile Nonkontwana (2)
    22 Tian Meyer (22)
    23 Louis Fouche (4)

•Guinness PRO14 caps indicated next the player’s name.

The following players are not eligible for team selection due to injury: Quintin Vorster (ankle), Ntokosa Vidima (wrist), Dries Swanepoel (shoulder), Oupa Mohoje (knee), Luan de Bruin (ankle), Jasper Wiese (shoulder), Lloyd Greeff (ankle), Sibabalo Qoma (ankle), Ryno Eksteen (knee), Jacques Du Toit (knee), Malcolm Jaer (hand), Neill Jordaan (nose).

    Munster:

    Mike Haley; Shane Daly, Sammy Arnold, Tyler Bleyendaal (C), Alex Wootton; Bill Johnston, Alby Mathewson;
James Cronin, Kevin O’Byrne, Stephen Archer; Jean Kleyn, Darren O’Shea; Fineen Wycherley, Chris Cloete, Arno Botha.

Replacements: Mike Sherry, Jeremy Loughman, John Ryan, Sean O’Connor, Gavin Coombes, Duncan Williams, Ian Keatley, Rory Scannell.

Other squad members: Ciaran Parker, Neil Cronin, JJ Hanrahan, Liam Coombes

The referee for the match is Marius Mitrea (FIR, 83rd competition game). He will be assisted by Joy Cwengile Jadewenzi (SARU) and Ruhan Meiring (SARU). The TMO is Shaun Veldsman (SARU).

The Cheetahs will be looking for their second win of the campaign after a comfortable home win against Cardiff. After a huge come from behind win against Glasgow, Munster will be looking to maintain pressure on the Conference A leaders.

Bill Johnston gets a baptism of fire at ten with the returning Tyler Bleyendaal starting at inside centre. A glut of unavailable players in the backrow forces Fineen Wycherley to move to the blindside flank.

Tyler at 12 - he must be completely recovered if they are playing him at centre.

Exciting team, Wootton is a guy who is seriously knocking on the door of the first team. Very interested to see how Bill Johnston gets on

Some defensive frailties holding him back, but very exciting in attack - looked particularly good with Carbery getting the ball to him.

Also looking forward to seeing how Johnston goes. Hopefully the pack can provide a solid platform, and there are some exciting options outside him. Good that he starts with Mathewson too.

Will be interesting to see how Tyler gets on in the centre; as said above, he better be fully fit!

    🤪

Is Wootton not leaving at the end of the season?

Good to see Ox and Rhyno both playing.

Cheetahs didn't have enough players so they got an ox and rhino on the team, which can only be good for safari diplomacy

Late change sees Arnold out, Daly to centre and Liam Coombes to the wing.

    Arnold failed RTPP.

There's quite a bit of inexperience out there now with Johnston, Daly and Coombes all starting.

Johnson looks very confident so far. Finding great field position and not afraid to change point of attack

Bill's kicking is top notch so far today.

Johnston taking the penalties ahead of TB. Poor penalty given away from Cloete. Cheetahs spill 5m out and Johnston clears. Muster have a scrum 5m out now.

Cloete needs a word. He's been ill disciplined all game.

Cheetahs look good at home. Great running rugby

Munsters continuing poor discipline costing them. For all the lip service Flannery paid to it, clearly the coaching staff and the squad have no interest in fixing it.

Anyone hearing that whistling bell noise from the game? Very annoying.

I wonder if a player ended up needing to be stretchered off after taking an opponent out in the air would the ref follow through with issuing a red card.

Technically that Cheetahs try should've been a penalty to Munster for joining the maul ahead of the carrier. Similar to Irelands disallowed try in Cardiff last year.

Well the ref asked 3 or so times was there any foul play from munster. When he seen it was his own fault, and possible pen to munster he started laughing for some reason

    Cavanaghs of Charleville ...choon!! :D

As difficult as it was to see Cloete's card, finally good to see a referee refusing to allow a team to have carte blanche for repeated infringements when playing penalty advantage to the opposition.

The Saffer commentary are a breath of fresh air too, know all the players names, no bias just calling it as they see it.

Munster throwing this away. Lost structures since replacements have come on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Awful from Munsteer, the subs have dropped the intensity completely.

The backs are doing absolutely nothing, all the passes are miles away from contact letting the defence drift across, Cheetahs have 3 different defenders out on the wing there.

    Good response from munster

Can't see O'Byrne getting back into the team at this rate. O'Brien has the better beard too 😁
