The Simpsons should put itself out of its misery

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

What do you reckon? Is the violence of that particular set of cartoons damaging the minds of our impressionable youth? Is it desensitizing their delicate minds and causing them to feel no emotion or pain. We need to protect our young from violence at all costs, and defend them against people who would otherwise want to subject them to this vicious ,disturbing cartoon..

    I think I've seen that Simpson's episode.

No, it's not a satire on Tom & Jerry at all. Also, your poll is BS.

Maybe make it more relevant, like Soros and Bannon perhaps?

You need to start watching better tv shows

Itchy and Scratchy are probably the best thing about the Simpsons these days.

Honestly, the Simpsons stopped being any good or original after 2002 - please please put it out of its misery...

They should have done a "Dinosaurs" on the show twenty years ago, maybe a meltdown in the nuclear plant destroying Springfield.

Now I know you're taking the proverbial. 3/10 for effort.

There is so much bad TV these days that Simpsons remain middle of the pack. Their decline is no greater than the larger contextual free-fall.

Marge Simpson got rid of Itchy and Scratchy for a while. It didn't go to well. With mildly hilarious consequences.

I hope they don't get rid of Apu. One of my favorite characters.

EDIT: Ah nuts. I mean....ah nuts.

I'm not entirely sure The Simpsons at its peak years would go down well in today's uber PC society if it was a new creation.

I guess we can look forward to lots of very bland shows in the future, safe spaces and all.

You....you do realise that The Simpsons is aimed at an Adult audience? It's rated PG, so take a bit of responsibility as a parent, and make your own mind up if kids should watch it.

I swear to the Spaghetti Monster, snowflakes these days

It's an obvious rip off of Tom and Jerry plus it's insulting to those who have dermatological problems😢

Family Guy or American Dad are much better.

The Simpsons show had a tie up episode with Family Guy: Both Homer and Peter should have been dead and buried a long long time ago.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,482 ✭✭✭Gimme A Pound

    I made the itchy.
Do you mean "I did the iggy!"? :)

There is still the odd gem of an episode up to 2006 but that is the end of it.

    Shut her down, boys!

Add in the Cleveland Show and you have three series using the same characters.

Yes. And also Homer the alcoholic, Apu the racist stereo type, the stereo type Scotish man, every one except Flanders. Appease all the crying-babies.

The Simpsons is a spin off show.

Scratchy should be given his own show.

Totally agree, the problem with people thinking The Simpsons is rubbish now is because it was so fcking-funny-on-the-money- politically-incorrect for its peak years. Yes, average now, but average is still better than so much shi!te that is on the box right now

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,440 ✭✭✭The Rape of Lucretia

Its a tired old segment that should long ago have been withdrawn from the show. The thinly veiled repeat of the Jews getting their revenge on the Nazis with vicious violence and Itchy's glee at their comeuppance is tiresome, heavy handed, and quite out of date with modern views on the events it references.

Well you better not show your kids Ren and Stimpy then. :) :pac:

Think Rick and Morty has taken that accolade, obvs it's not for everyone. Well not kids anyway.
