    Addison does look really good!

    Good pass from Gilroy

Good game so far, ulster really need to start finishing these chances. But the offloading and lines are sweet so far.

Big shame O'Toole never returned. Addison really does look sharp. Coetzee is gonna get better with the return of Deysel and carrying.

    Addison is looking the business.

Coetzee is effective although I'm not convinced he is 100% fit.

McCloskey had a good half and O'Toole before he went off showed exactly why he is so highly rated.

Great watch even if we haven't scored a try yet

    That's shambolic tackling on Patchell.

God Ulster just need to waken up at the start of match

This a stereotypical Ulster game look like they should be destroying Scarlets but barely winning.

Ulster struggling with the clear out

  • Administrators Posts: 54,172 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Some of the clear outs by our backs are too soft.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,452 ✭✭✭launish116

Henderson just generally being a nightmare in the line out!

  • Registered Users Posts: 967 ✭✭✭Scythica

    Scarlets defence is very fast

In fairness to Speight he didn't even flinch or ask for the card!

Daft from the Scarlets player with one already in the bin.

    Well.

I suppose the best thing you can say is Ulster know what they have to improve on.

  • Administrators Posts: 54,172 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Fantastic result and a very promising performance.

  • Registered Users Posts: 967 ✭✭✭Scythica

    Promising start.

Lot to improve, but shows the hunger was there. Speight and Coetzee looked over the moon which is great to see as well

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,817 ✭✭✭Tigerandahalf

Billy Burns doesn't look the answer at 10 anyway.
That Kernoghan guy made some impact. Is he the guy who has the sprint record?

Final score lads? I switched over to watch Carbery seal the win for Munster.

Speight didn't get a lot of ball but the couple he did get looked very promising. Like what I saw of him.

Kernohan looks the part. I wouldn't say he has come from nowhere but he didn't look a standout on a poor Irish 20s team last season and here he is playing really at Pro 14 level!

Addison looked the best of the new signings. Burns was a mixed bag but you would expect there is more to come from him and Cooney.

    McCloskey MOTM...probably deserved.

Coetzee brings a totally new dimension to the pack. Throw Nordi in as well and we might just have the makings of our best pack since the Muller, Afoa, Ferris days.

Negative is that we didn't look like scoring a try and bar the significant presence of Stockdale, that was pretty much our first choice backline tonight with the possible exception of Marshall for Cave.

    No, that's Aaron Sexton.

Premier Sports have got their money's worth this weekend between Cardiff Leinster, Connacht Glasgow and Ulster Scarlets!!

  • Administrators Posts: 54,172 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Kernohan really impressed me, found a few gaps.

Coetzee just likes melting rucks, and awec likes watching it.

To be fair he was only an u19 last season.

    I'll take that.

A mixed bag but last year we would have lost that game.

    Onwards....

Didn't know that. So he's eligible again this season? Well either way he did really well

I still reckon he is operating at about 75%. Hopefully that's just match fitness.

By the way...you wonder why people sometimes get so up in arms about some academy selections...I think I'm right in saying Kernohan isn't even in the Ulster Academy. You'd have to question that...although I'd hope they change that soon.
