When you think about the nicest accents in the world, American is definitely not the first that comes to mind for most people. But there is just something about a southern US accent that makes me go weak. I heard this short snippet on the news this evening (correct me if it's not a southern US accent):

:D That's where I got my name, I couldn't think of a username the day I joined. The Can I come too thread appeared on the home page & it just seems to work, although I did add the three dots for my own bit of uniqueness. :D

German for me. It's one of those languages that people tend to make fun of for the way it sounds, but I doubt many have really listened to it.

Yeah, I'd say it's more like the North East of the States.

Geographically, London and other certain British accents. Also, literally anything with thick, non-stop vocal fry. I dated a woman from California a few years ago and literally every word she spoke, regardless of the subject, came out with a sort of scratchy purr (think Britney Spears) and made it almost impossible to sit still :D:D:D

Sounds like she is from d4.
Or maybe anywhere in Ireland that teenagers live nowadays

    Sith Ifrika

I love that Cajun/Bayou accent, especially on someone that's an absolute unit.

Likes Southern American accents, posts generic Irish sounding American accent. Okay.

Anyway, just listen to 'Our Song' by Taylor Swift, it's pretty much the hottest anglo accent.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jb2stN7kH28

'and when I got home, before I said amen, asking god if he could play it again' Sentence doesn't even work without having a southern US accent.

LOL - That's not a southern US accent. It's a pretty generic American accent. Probably somewhere around the east coast maybe. My GF is from West Virginia.

It sounds like a true American accent but very subtle like from Maine or something. The girl sounds like she was born in America but lived in Ireland since she was 10 or something.

A nice northern Irish or Scottish accent. French can be hot too as well as some Hispanic accents. My missus is German and I love her and all but I don't find the German accent sexy :p

Yeah, I got the same thing. Mid Atlantic.

Barbados accent is gorgeous. Rihanna had an amazing one when I first heard her speak, it's probably diluted a bit now.

Dutch girls speaking English can be hot and French girls speaking English is obvious. Some southern England accents are nice too.

Nah. She sounds American. No mid-atlantic anything. She's from the east-coast of the US. New England region or thereabouts.

For some weird reason I had to think of Brad Pitt's Jamaican accent that he put on in Meet Joe Black. It does sound pretty hot actually.

She has no eastern accent, nor is it standard American either.

Newfoundland accent is as captivating as it is bizarre.

Gal Gadot's gravelly laconic Israeli accent is saliva inducing. I have a bit of a thing for Israeli women generally, they're confident but most are trained killers too so you get the danger horn.

LOL the "danger horn". This made me think you have some sort of erotically-based defense mechanism!

Why did you say nah but then a few sentences later say she's from the "east- coast New England thereabouts" when I literally mentioned Maine in the same post you quoted?

South African accent always gets me. I knew a guy from South Africa and he was an absolute beast. Blonde hair blue eyes, built like a brick sh*thouse. He tried it on with me a few times but I was too shy to do anything.

I also like the Scottish accent.
