Walking the entrance of the next dolmen Iuric notices a red skinned being with no eyes and a horned frill on its skull inside dragging an axe the size of Iruic himself.
"Hello there. Do you have any knoowledge of the runes in these islands?"

"They lead to the other floor eight. Though I can't let you touch this rune"

"There is another floor eight? That seems rather confusing but fitting for this place. Can I reach the other floor eight without the use of this rune?"

    "Yes"

He says the answer curtly enough that Iuric reads he doesn't want to talk more.

Iuric leaves and heads for the next island's dolmen.

Arriving at the next dolmen, he sees that some kind of slime covers the entrance to the dolmen and the passage down.

Iuric pokes it with a javelin.

She sits down, paws through her tome, fishes her pearl out of her backpack and begins the ritual to get to the bottom of any of the Rapier's secrets.

"Ok, done. Hold on to your little orc socks, Mags, you won't believe what I'm about to say..."

The tip of the javelin melts slightly with a hiss.

It is simply a normal rapier.

OOC: Since we levelled up but haven't taken a long rest do we have our new abilities yet, spells specifically?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,485 ✭✭✭✭Banjo

"...you were screwed! Because it does nothing special good, and if it's cursed this ****ty ritual wouldn't tell me. I have made many questionable lifestyle choices but learning that ritual is definitely top 3. We could go kill the snake but I think I already have."

She goes to see if Mags' tune has made any prisoners cry

Some of the prisoners weep openly.

Suddenly Retula feels something wet on her bald head.

    OOC: Dex check

Retula jerks her head back just in time as a massive worm extends from the ceiling and attempts to bite her head. It misses by a few inches, before retracting.

Iuric looks closely at the stone. Strangely it is not dissolving, though from the potency of this acid it by all reason should.

Iuric looks around the island for any stones that look similar to the ones the dolmen is made of.

He finds a large flat stone, about the size of a shield, half submerged in the earth. It looks like a left over from the dolmen's construction.

Retula sends a discouraging blast up at the worm.
(14 and 21 with 6 and 11 dmg if you want me to roll.)

She has a closer look to see what it came out of, then looks for more of them. With her eyes, she's not going wandering.

As the worm pulls up into the ceiling Retula's blast hits it square in the mouth, travels down its gullet and it bursts.

The worm clearly descended from a hole in the ceiling. Retula can see they are fairly common in this vast prison.

OOC: To be more clear, the roof of the prison hangs quite far over the top of the cells. Each cell is a cubicle as such about 8' high, but the ceiling is 40' up

"No crime Sarric I insist! I simply explored the tower as many others have, then fell victim to a foul spell guarding one of the rooms. When I awoke I was here"

Drokrash sees the Sarrics coming and knocks them back with a spell, they hit the prison walls, but are only a bit dazed.

"I'll see what I can do about finding your freedom, but for now, it seems your cage masters have me out powered, if i can find a way, i'll be back for you. Later my friend." And with that, Sarric turns and resumes following Vrakrash's brother.

"Who are you expecting an order to come from, if not me. Maybe i'll go talk to this person, as you clearly wont take orders from me seriously until they confirm. I'll have them inform you thats its okay to obey my orders, so you dont have to worry about getting into serious trouble." Sarric queries of Drokrash.

OOC: Is there anything on the island Iuric could use to make a big fire?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,485 ✭✭✭✭Banjo

"H, watch the skies for me. Hey, what the ****?"
She notices the Dragonborn shoving the Sarric's.
If she can, she fires an EB to push him without hurting him.
"Play nice, Dragonborn. Or I'll sing some more!"

"My orders come from the staff of the upper floors. There will be some of them on the 10th floor where my living quarters are. Though they are quite inhuman"

As he turns, Retula's eldritch bolt hits him. Though he is undamaged, he quickly grabs Vrakrash and he and his brother vanish from sight.

Iuric finds the odd twig and some bushes, enough to make a sizeable fire should he wish.

Sarric contiunes onwards, in the same direction that they were already heading, looking for the stairs that lead upwards, to the next level..

Soon enough he clears the cells themselves, beyond which there is a courtyard, about half a mile wide. At the other end of the courtyard is a fortress, almost reaching to the roof (OOC: The roof is ~100' tall at this point).

Strewn across the courtyard are skeletons, the majority closer to Sarric's side than to the fortress.

In the middle of the courtyard is a dried up fountain.

Sarric asks one of the sarrics to go check in the fountain and to return with a report. Sarric awaits for his return and observes.
