Do you think there will be any 3080 stock hitting suppliers before the end of the year?

Id say there will be a constant trickle of 3080s all the way to the new year....they wont be readily available off the shelf till Q1, but the release off the AMD cards will help with stock levels.

Anyone with a GeForce RTX 3080 or 3090 RTX who wants my Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War ? Card came with offer code for this, can only be activated/redeemed on one of these cards.

I'm not really interested in it.

I'll take it if it's not gone :) - Probably is though

videocardz is saying a 3060ti is ready to go on December 2nd. Looks like a cut down 3070 with the same RAM for $399.

    https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060-ti-founders-edition-pictured

nvidia are in a bit of a jam here imo. Obviously the 8gb on the 3070 isn't enough but there's no way to increase it without making the 3080 look bad either...seems like a mess to me.

That's my main complaint about nvidia tbh, how muddied everything has become since the 10 series. Maybe it was inevitable as the gains get harder to get but the 10 series seems so clean in comparison - 50/60/70/80 with some tis released after. wiki has the following gen mid-range as 5 cards! 1660, 1660 super, 1660ti, 2060, 2060super. FFS

Lads, I know it's ridiculously difficult to get your hands on a 3080 right now, but I just want to share some feedback on my Palit GamingPro OC.

Increased the powerlevel as usual, the GPU is averaging 1850mhz core boost running the Red Dead Redemption 2 benchmark, and at one point managed to hit 1995mhz.

That is pretty decent, considering the factory Boost is 1740mhz only.

Anyone chanced one on Currys? Few popping up but think I may be preordering.

Saw that but at least one of them earlier was for in-store collection only. Even if it was available for delivery, they only deliver to the UK and I don't think I'd risk a 3080 going through Parcel Motel. I'm in the same boat with a monitor I want to pick up too :(

It's strongly rumoured that the 3070ti will have 10GB of VRAM - is this enough for 1440p raytracing (with DLSS) and VR?

I'm convinced* AMD's answer to DLSS will become the standard - will DLSS see wider support than it currently has? Will nVidia cards be able to support the (presumably open) AMD standard?

    Wondering people's thoughts / links?

Probably they will support the standard DirectML API but probably DLSS will be better in terms of performance and/or quality.

Man I feel stupid for not buying a €500 RTX 2080 Ti when the 3000 were revealed :pac:

10gb, still terrible. Especially as it's the regular gddr6 and not the x. Why not 12gb? **** why not even 16?

If the 3070ti had 12-16gb, better performance than the 3070, closer to the 3080, and was priced around 600-650 I'd buy it np instead of a 6800.

Tweet I saw was GDDR6X but who knows how reliable that is.

All this talk of VRAM. Has anyone actually had an issue with 8GB being a bottleneck?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

It's not much of an issue atm unless you play at high resolution with improved texture packs in a handful of games like Microsoft flight sim and doom eternal.

Texture budgets increase over time. We've seen in the past many times where cards with low vram have ran into problems a year or 2 after release. This year will see more games that want more than 8. Spending 550+ on a card in late 2020 with only 8gb is madness imo.

If you upgrade every year it's not much of a problem. If you're buying a highish end card to last 2-3 years it will be a problem.

I got a warning in Monster Hunter World that I would be over-budget on my settings when I tried 3440x1440 UW.

    8Gb RTX 2070 Super.

Managed to grab an ASUS 3070 TUF on Amazon UK for around €663. Won't be arriving until 22nd December, but I'm glad the nightmare of trying to get a card is finally over.

I ordered a 3070 on Scan on release day, was 39th in the Queue, this is the current position:

LN110436 - Zotac NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 8GB Trinity Ampere Graphics Card
Your current queue position is 27.

I'm glad i managed to grab the 3080 in the end... Still haven't cancelled the 3070 as thought I could just sell it and recover the cost, whereas I might loose on the exchange rate or something.

In September GBP was 110 to the euro, now it is 112. So the chances are you'd actually win about 12 euro on the exchange rate (if you used a card with good FX).

I ordered my Evga 3080 from alternate.de last week and it arrived today. I was kind of surprised - I got the invitation to buy and they said it would ship within two working days which it did.

Dont mind paying maybe 50-70 euro over msrp but not playing into the hands off scumbag tactics that AMD seem to be implying with the new 6000 Series.
