    Just listening to Morning Ireland.

Report on those 'talking' statues in Dublin - the project goes live today.

I wonder will Joe go back to this topic today seen as his is voicing one of the statues (a statue of some fella called George in Trinity College).

What were the fees for that I wonder?

He should have been voicing Jim Larkin.

Jim Larkin would have had a Liverpudlian “scouse” accent, I imagine, as he was born there. Is there any statue of a Dubalineser dat Fateen could more appropriately have voiced. I’m sure dat George fellow was far too posh to be voiced by Joe.

You (luckily for you) missed Joe’s request to search for a recording of Him Larkin’s voice a few years ago. It was Versatis for the ears that one.

We had callers callnin to give their “impression” of the voice, including some RTE actors. It was appalling radio, even by Lahn Lahn standards.

They like you say ignored the Scouse element of his accent, as well as de likely Nordren Ireland element. All of dem were salt a de irth Dubalinese.

He had a horn for that topic for weeks.

One thing I can safely say is they weren’t likely cheap.

Since when did soldiers become a shower of wusses

Whatever about not getting paid, maybe they should, but sleeping on safari beds?

What do they want, the 4 seasons?

and leaving their families for 3 days, what about the lads who went off to war for months/years on end

There is no doubt that the army are very poorly paid,

However, whats the point of having someone on talking about wages/conditions over 20 years ago...
