Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

After the unexpected turnaround for Hamilton we are back at a track where power is not as essential. That should bring RedBull into play

New Ferrari PUs for Haas and Sauber this weekend, and the upgrade sounds like it's a pretty significant performance boost

    hmm

Not to mention the big stormy could followed by "mostly sunny but rainstorms expected" - so every possible weather? I thought it was the Hungarian Grand Prix, not the Irish Grand Prix :D:D:D

Sky showed all of Sirotkin's mechanics wearing cheap gold bracelets that he bought for them as a joke. Fair play to him for at least trying to build a bit of team spirit :D

    I hope it rains :pac:

Nice track to go to BTW[/quote]

That it is - currently panned out by turn 11! Also have my poncho at the ready!

Qualifying should be good if it's anything like practice 3. Lots of traffic

Hamilton struggling a bit, Bottas and Vettel a good bit ahead

I see Kimi is doing what Kimi does best these days, goes purple in the first 2 sectors and then crosses the line slower than P1

Well he has to practice for when he bottles it in qualy

Bit of a worrying crash out of coverage by Eir at the end of FP3, hopefully sorted by qualifying.
Turn 5 track limits might spark some debate.

Yeah, caught a bit of radio on the timing app saying that "everybody is exceeding track limits at turn 5 where you are", but didn't see which team were giving the bit an instruction!

Ferraris are looking good, although they were sounding a bit off yesterday - there was a weird rattling noise coming from the car into breaking zones and it wasn't the kerb.

Few drops of rain falling on the TV, how's it look there?

What is it like being at a GP and seeing everything right in front of you?

    What's Hungary itself like?

    Cheap,expensive?

It's class, we've been a few times but it's always excellent! The support races are great to watch live as there are so many cars on track and it's mayhem at times!

By the way, it is pissing down at the moment

    The heavens just opened

Edit - it's wet but now that we've stepped out in it, it's not ridiculous. Maybe intermediates

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

It's going to be a proper wet qualy by the looks of it :)

Tis noisy in the Red Bull garage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,498 ✭✭✭Harika

Looks dry to intermediate with a threat of full wet.

Yeah I think my excitement was premature, with the high temperatures the track will be dry pretty quickly, unless the heavens open again

Pitlane looked defo inters, paddock then dry. Weather radar gives options. So very busy early minutes with high chance of yellows.

Be gas if the front runners don't get a lap in on dry tyres before the rain comes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,397 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

Ricciardo could be in trouble unfortunately

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,397 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

    Now Vettel needs a time

    edit: and goes fastest

Both Force India's out in Q1, bugger.
And Leclerc out in Q1, big bugger.
Alonso has out qualified Vandoorne for 17 races in a row, jesus he should be embarrassed.

Good Q1 tho really miss having the full timing screens available for sessions like this

I'd love to go back. We went in 2004, loved the city, loved the event (even if the race was dull).

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

It would take something special to go faster on the wets I would have thought

I wonder is that the top 10 for Q2 with conditions not improving

    Ricciardo out on full wets

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,397 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

Alonso being realistic about his chances on any type of tyre

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

Yep no improvement there, track has just gotten worse. Shame we lose Alonso, Hulk & Danny Ric.

And well done to Toro Rosso, both cars in Q3

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,397 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

Nicely set up for good Q3 now

Wonder would inters be able to get close to full wet time with current conditions, maybe if it dries a bit

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,256 ✭✭✭✭flazio

Imagine if conditions were too bad to run Q3. Sainz would be on the front row.

Looks like a full wet q3, haven't had that in a long time

Mercedes-Benz are getting all the luck.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,397 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

Wonder what are the chances of a honda on pole :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

Vettel isn't improving at all, Kimi in good shape so far. What can Hamilton do on fresh tyres?

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

    That was a great qualy!
Race should be interesting tomorrow no matter what happens with the weather. What about Verstappen, down in P7 and out qualified by Gasly in a Toro Rosso. He's normally swift in the wet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,397 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

    Vettel struggled a bit
Verstappen not great, Sainz did well

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,944 ✭✭✭✭Frank Bullitt

Great session, Merc pulled that out of the bag.

Swift in a wet race, qually not so much

Mercedes again against the odds. Helped by the rain. Great job from sainz and gasly

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,905 ✭✭✭Joeface

that was great entertainment ..Great last sector form Hamilton , think the graphic showed good first , poor middle and Purple for his last sector for his pole lap.

Is it suppose to be dry for the race or and unknown mixed bag.

@Harika your "TR will surprise" predicition even if not in the race came through . Both drivers doing fine job in the conditions .
