Without giving too much away, lets just say I have a particular affinity for the area from times past.

Here's the next one:

This is how bored off my face I am.
What's with the flagpoles?

First of all, when I saw the photo, I thought, "That"s a tidy wee town," and what do you know, twice winner
https://www.irishtimes.com/news/keadue-declared-tidiest-town-in-state-1.374238

Anyway, I'm still mystified by the flags (which I thought would be a fine clue).

The park on the right is O'Carolan Heritage Park named after noted composer and blind harpist Turlough O'Carolan who never, as far as I can tell, performed a European Tour. Born in Nobber, Co. Meath, he was buried in Keadue in 1783.

The local F.C., Keadue Rovers, is twinned with Dulla Boys F.C., Jambiani though the Tanzanian flag isn't evident.

Maybe Roscommon peeps just like flags?

(@Niley, re: the last one, will googling, "brutalist irish church architecture" help? :))

I'm not sure 'architecture' would be an appropriate term, it seems like it could sully the reputation of a good profession :D. To me it looks like a church made out of spare parts.

I know Keadue well. There's a bit of a Fleadh there every year, officially titled the O'Carolan Harp Festival, but it's a good mix of everything; music, song, poetry etc. Lot of overseas musicians, strong connection to places like Brittany, so maybe that's what the flags are for. It was huge in the 70's and 80's but has died down a bit since then. Local GAA team is muck, so flags are not for them. :)

Ah, Kev, you're a legend. Embarrassingly, I did read about the festival but I never made connection that it might be international.

Mystery solved, thank you :)

Spent a while trying to find that 'Muriel',as my mate calls it,
on the gable of the Credit union, just visible in Niley's post.
But thanks to Big sleep i've just spent a couple of pleasant hours down
a rabbit hole reading about the blind harpist.

Right, time out, everybody out of the pool for a second :)

Is this going to be a Niley special whereby the bunting screams Wexford, but the pub is actually five yards over the Wickla/Carlow/Kilkenny/Waterford border, run by the congenial Mr. Ó Lorcáin, a third-generation Loch Garman blow-in whose blood runs purple and gold? :)

You got me, almost.
It's actually worse, it's not county colours at all!

If it's Kilmacud Crokes bunting, then that doesn't help at all :(

It's not, but the bunting does relate to a GAA club in the area.

Think Irish revolutionary figure rather than place name (for the club)

Ah Niley it's been more than 24hrs! I gave you a church and a school. Thought you could narrow it down by the colour paint used!

Would you take my word for it that I know exactly where it is, and have known where it is from not too long after you posted it ? :D

Swear I drove down some back roads to get to a church like this before.

Would have been when I was driving around with herself in the area of Carlow/Kildare... could be wrong though

Not either of those counties. It is on back roads alright it's a bit of a forsaken place despite being a fairly big village, unless you lived there most would have little reason to pass through it.
