    Guests this week:

Una Healy - dropping in for a chat.

Ryan O'Shaughnessy - on live link from Lisbon. Would not have been as technologically advanced as that back in the days when Kenny Live ruled Saturday nights.

Nicole Owns - will talk to Ray about joining hundreds of thousands of people all over the country to walk from darkness into light for Pieta House's annual event. She will also will talk about winning the All Ireland final at Croke Park after years of struggling with mental health problems.

David McWilliams - will be giving his analysis on the property market.

Keith Broni - the world's first emoji consultant, will be appearing to talk about helping companies navigate their way through a growing emoji minefield.

The above line up is the strongest evidence yet that I probably am in purgatory!

Mark Williams has just drawn level with Hawkins in the snooker, it's not a classic but it could go all the way,

My lawnmower died this evening, thankfully this show is here to make my misery worse

    Who is Ryan o Shaughnessy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74,320 ✭✭✭✭Welsh Megaman

Nerdy factoid, for the week that's in it...

Una was one of the backing singers for Brian Kennedy at Eurovision 2006.

Poor Brian was overshadowed that night of course, by 'Teenage Life' by Daz Sampson Lordi.

Spot the Blues Brother in the audience!

    Strange looking creature...stroking the alpaca.

I feel Ray should bang on all the alpacas heads like a drumkit. :)

And so ends easily the best segment ever on the Ray D'Arcy Show

I love Kilkenny, I am from Kilkenny after all, but the prize is a holiday to Kilkenny...though the cash would be nice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74,320 ✭✭✭✭Welsh Megaman

The alpacas are humming, ''Where the f**k is Brendan O'Connor?''

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,761 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

Bank holiday weekend, nothing like a talk on depression to raise the spirits...

I still think Dustin was the artistic highpoint of our Eurovision output.

Maybe RTE should have a program midweek for all these depressing stories, I mean it is the weekend, we aren't in watching this looking for misery porn.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,737 ✭✭✭✭Ol' Donie

I've seen ads for that Red Bull nonsense loads of times over the years.

All of the planes or whatever just seem to fall directly into the sea. Is that supposed to happen?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,737 ✭✭✭✭Ol' Donie

Aw, cool, it's that girl off RTE chatshows, and occasional Daniel O'Donnell specials.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74,320 ✭✭✭✭Welsh Megaman

Linda Martin called, she wants her dress guna back.

Una Healy is getting an English accent. Depressing when Irish people do well and then come back to Ireland to do an interview in a mangled accent.

I like Una - she's not a bit full of herself and she can actually sing, not like a lot of the so-called female popstars.

    Good god, she is not!!!

Not sure what your sound is like!

We thought we'd reunite you with Brian Kennedy, cos he's usually hanging round here begging for some air time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74,320 ✭✭✭✭Welsh Megaman

Was Brian walking past Donnybrook on the way to the chipper?

I dunno would you call it an English accent. But it's a bit...strange. Not a Tipp accent anyway!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,694 ✭✭✭✭Alf Veedersane

    Just switched on.

    Una Healy.

That was an unexpectedly positive turn.

She used to have a strong Tipp accent. Now it's not as strong and she seems to be pronouncing some words in an English accent. I mean it's inevitable when someone moves to a different country

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,694 ✭✭✭✭Alf Veedersane

Is that a rehearsal of Ireland's Eurovision song?

I hadn't seen it before...Jesus it was shìte.

Sorry to tell you Ryan, but this "adventure" is not going to end well.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 6,309 Mod ✭✭✭✭mzungu

That Ryan chap seems like a sound bloke, but the song is woeful.
