mymemory have a 2 for £22 deal on Anker Powercore 10400mAh powerbanks with free UK delivery.

    https://www.mymemory.co.uk/anker-3a-powercore-10400mah-portable-power-bank-with-poweriq.html

Two charging ports & quick charge.

Seem to be around same price for one on amazon.

You will likely need to use AP as I've had issues getting batteries shipped before.

EDIT: Seems they're available on the .ie site as well (2 for €27.50) with free delivery, assuming they'll ship batteries here.

    Nope.

    PowerIQ is not quick charge.

Edited the OP to state "fast" charge as per Anker's own description.

"Fast-Charging Technology - Anker’s exclusive PowerIQ and VoltageBoost technologies combine to ensure the fastest possible charge up to 2.4 amps"

    Hi,
I'm easily confused by all this power, but would this be good/worthless for keeping a Nintendo Switch charged during a flight?

    Plenty of juice in it.

Cheers OP, absolutely smashing price for these! Have the older model 10,000 mAh and its lasted me about 3-4 years.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Ordered one for €14.99 incl shipping. Pretty decent deal, thanks OP :)

I was able to order on the UK site with no issue. No sign of a cancellation email either

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,146 ✭✭✭Laphroaig52

It seems to be expired now.
But even so, at €17 for just one, it seems a great price compared to Amazon.

The VC5 code will still get you a few more pennies off...

That doesn't seem long? Are you one of these that uses it on the couch rather than plug in?

How many times could you charge a standard smartphone off one of these?

Would I be right to say if you had a phone capable of 2000mah, you could in theory charge it from empty 5 times?

No, the energy transfer isn't that efficient. I'd say you'd get 3-4 times.

The problem is its measured in a slightly misleading way.

USB is 5v, your phones charge at 5v, but the cell chemistry is 3.7v. So a 10400mAh pack is only 7696mAh maximum. Then transfer that and you're down at about 90% efficiency so you get 6900mAh. So your 10Ah pack is actually 7Ah in numbers that make sense to the end user, or about 3 full charges.

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00XVTJKCQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

20,000mah €18.99 The reviews seemed great.

Ordered 25-04 & shipped same day to AddressPal. Arrived to my local PO for collection on Wednesday (02-05), so took one week.

Seem to be shipping from Switzerland which I don't recall happening before.

ordered mine on the 27th as well. Emailed them, got a response in 30mins to confirm it was dispatched by standard delivery (I presume that means by post) and to wait a bit longer. They have to wait at least 15 days before they can file a claim for missing goods so I'll give it another few days but hopefully it's already waiting for me at home :D

    Edit: 11/5 arrived...:)

Just landed in my post box!

It's a nice size barely any bigger than an old duracell one I had that was only around 3000ma. Nice mesh bag with it too.

update - Mine has arrived. Thanks OP.

Mine is here too! Thank you OP.

First impressions are it's much smaller and lighter than expected making it more portable. On my other Anker powerbank the lights flash while it's charging but there's no flashing going on with this while plugged in. Are others finding the same?

I got mine earlier. The lights go off when it's fully charged. It says so in the little booklet which comes with it.

Thanks everyone. My lights don't flash while charging at all but it has successfully charged so I suppose I can't complain.

Still waiting for mine also, hoping to have them by the weekend for travelling.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,464 ✭✭✭jamesd

Got mine, flashes when charging and when charged all 4 stay lit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,971 ✭✭✭_Whimsical_

I contacted them about the non flashing seeing as the rest of you are all getting flashing lights. They said they'll replace it no problem. Can't fault that sort of customer service. I'm happy with that.
Thanks everyone who answered. I'd rather not leave something plugged in for hours if it's not working 100% as it should.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,060 ✭✭✭tvercetti

Mine doesn't charge/light up if you leave the cable plugged into the output. The cables not connected to any device. Not sure if everyone elses does that. Lights up and flashes away if the cables not connected to the output.
