Not Sky’s fault, closed down by the channel.

Don't have ITV +1 on my box any ideas why not

Do you live in Ireland? If so, you’re not meant to have it on the EPG. There’s a sticky st the top of this forum with the details for tuning via Add Channels (Sky+HD) / Manual Tuning (Sky Q).

I dont even seem to have the +1 section on my epg does everyone else.

Some UK users are reporting the same problem over on Digital Spy. A reboot of the box seems to work for them.

This is very messy BBC1 is 141 where it always was but BBC 2HD is now 347 why is it not at 142 BBC 2 NI is there but not HD is there any cure for this. BBC 1HD is gone to 976

When I'm watching the BBC News and it goes to regional news, I always switch to BBC London (I'm a Londoner).

So, I'll be all the way up on Channel 954 and I've just discovered that when the remote decides to wedge it self in the arm of the couch and go on ' Autopilot', I'm only two clicks away from the mucky 'GrannyStation' channels.

They moved all the documentary channels to the 100s, with all them being HD bar discovery which for some stupid reason is the SD version? Wtf?!?!

The reason for both of these is the same. Sky are enforcing a rule that says they will not implement HD swap if the SD and HD versions are not exactly the same. This affects a number of channels who have Irish adverts on SD but not HD and these channels are listed in the 340s. Similarly BBC Two SD is BBC Two NI but there is no BBC Two NI HD so BBC Two HD is on 347.

So going by what you say there is no way to get them back the way they used to be .

No +1 menu on my sky box. Did a forced update but nothing. Its the older style menu so I presume they weren't updated.

Sky do not allow self assigning of channel numbers, though there’s a Favourites option.

Favourites menu sorta does now. If you just enter say number 1 or 2 on the remote then you'll go to that channel that's assigned that number in your favourites list. I've added some of the way down HD channels to my favourites so they now appear directly before RTE 1 on the EPG.

You need to power off the box from the mains for a few minutes

    That’s only on Sky Q.

I've the 4 ITV +1's on one box but the sky+ features aren't available.

I wish they would put it back the way it was. Its very messy. I have itv, Spike, five USA, more 4 plus ones. When I select then it brings me to sky ads. Why show customers what you can't have?

This new channel list is an absolute mess.

The biggest one for me is why is BBC 2 HD gone from 142 to 347

Why is 142 BBC SD now?

    It just doesn't make sense

It’s the effect of the rules I’m afraid. If SD and HD channels are not exactly the same they cannot be swapped.

BBC Two SD is BBC Two Northern Ireland, but there is no BBC Two Northern Ireland HD.

Also, we’re not in the NI ‘region’.

I never understood why people get so works about the numbers. You have an epg. Just scroll the channel. I don't know anyone who manually enters the channel number.

450 - 453 in the middle of the sports section is a real mystery.

Why is the excellent documentary channel Insight HD on 451

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,576 ✭✭✭Gerry Wicklow

Because they show a lot of extreme sports?

i would say the oposite. why would you go through the hassle of flicking through diferent pages and sections just to find the channel you usually watch.

    OK thanks.

I wouldn't view them as rules but more as an explanation/policy.

There is no legal or regulatory reason for BBC2 HD not to be on CH142.

Whats the reason for BBC 1 London being at 954 I wonder? Not sure why this particular region should be on the RoI EPG. Is always handy for an earlier Match of the Day though especially midweek when one had to endure Nolan Live first on BBC 1 NI affer the news.

I was a little surprised to see itv+1 on the +1 epg.

Hopefully it stays for the foreseeable future.
