Imagine the head scratching and twitter discussions that must have gone on in "liberal" circles when he "came out" as to whether they should attack him, or put it down to his culture, before they finally decided to go Full Nazi on him. God I love liberals :D

Indeed. The self-labelled 'liberals' are only liberal and tolerant when your view aligns with theirs...
So much this. I got bullied by so called liberals when I was a kid, this is the most obvious thing about them that people don't see

I hate these terms- right, left- The labour Party in Britain in the 40's were Socialists who were socially Conservative. What does that make them? These terms are very misleading.

We'll put him down as alt-right-lite pending clarification so?

    Exactly
Isnt this the whole problem though.
Peoples opinions are just that, opinions.
    Neither right or wrong.

But some seem to believe "if your opinion is different from mine then you're wrong and your opinion is not as valuable as mine"

God social media really is poison.

Just a platform to argue and shout (especially Twitter)

Even worse, people believe that their opinion is morally absolute and therefore any contrary opinions are not only wrong and less valuable, but immoral too. Therefore any concession that the ‘other side’ might have some validity is unacceptable and must be discouraged.

Yep, in all seriousness that's the main thing.
There's a serious movement now of "everyone needs to toe the line otherwise we'll hound you".
But if like him you're forthcoming with an opinion on social media then you should expect the other side of the opinion to come back at you for it.
If you truly believe your opinion is right you'd argue your excuse without immediately going for the "aaah I'm under attack".

It's the online equivalent of throwing chum into shark-infested waters and going for a dip.

In fairness, its not very nice being mobbed by an intolerant bunch.

I advise you all to look at 98fm Facebook page for Dublin talks.....

Absolutely shocking filthy scum running a poor pony into the ground...

I'm ashamed it took a foreign lady to stop and video while everyone else drove on by.

They then pelted this lady with stones damaging her car and get this her 11 month old child was in the car.

Now if anyone says this is discrimination or racism to travellers then... By God we as a nation have no hope.

    Filthy filthy scum bags....

    Animal cruelty...

Pavee Point will release a statement any moment now outlining how this horrible settled woman harassed a peaceful travelling family going about their cultural activities.

    Sickening really is.

Let them punch the heads off each other but animal cruelty is shocking.

There will be nothing done about it. Now that they have ethnic status, they can deflect criticism from animal cruelty by claiming it as part of their culture, in the same way muslims do with dhabihah (halal slaughter).

I absolutely abhor this sulky stuff. It's the easiest thing in the country to fix and prevent, Gardai won't touch it, politicians won't touch it. Pavee Point just sitting there waiting for someone to speak out about it.

Not too good with the 'ol euphemisms eh?

When you thought he was an asshole, did you actually think he was a walking, talking anus?

The sheep? Be careful folks, we got an edgelord here.

And as for those talking about his right to opine. Fair enough. But his opinions are never arrived at through looking at the facts or ANY knowledge of the subjects, just emotive puke.

    LIDL deserved it etc, etc...

having the right to an opinion is not the same as having the right to not have it questioned or ridiculed

Of course he's entitled to his opinion - nobody has an issue with him having an opinion. Peoples issue with him (mine in any case) is that he's a fúcking award winning arsehole.

If there was a nobel prize for prickery he'd win it hands down.

There is something weird and unsettling about a mob attacking someone who expresses an opinion. And it wasn't constructive engagement with his argument, mostly abuse. Twatter just seems to attract nutjobs.

It's even more unsettling when many of those attacking him are the same ones who attacked anyone who said a word against him up until a few days ago.

While I fully stand behind what you quoted there perhaps I should have rounded it off by saying I also don't think there's a right to be a dickhead about questioning or challenging someones opinion. (although admittedly there are those opinions I'd find it hard to take very seriously or be respectful of, one of the main reasons I try to stay out of the CT forum)

Ye I agree. I'm guilty myself of smearing people who don't agree with me. The internet makes it much easier to attack someone. I never meet people in ordinary life who behave like this.

This pox bottle chiming in with the race card in relation to the mother and children sleeping in a Garda station.

"The homeless Traveller woman who slept in a Gardai station with her children is getting an incredible amount of hate online. Reality is that if she were a settled woman she would be receiving an incredible amount of support. The Last Acceptable form of Racism In Ireland."
