Not the watch but the user that commented. Xavier Sanchez. Read all their comments. Definitely a dodgy one!

Now this isn’t fake but something funny is going on with the photos

Ah he’s taking other people’s pics from chrono24 amd cropping out the hallmark
    Sneaky

What a clown. How hard is it to post actual pictures of the watch?
The chrono24 thing is weird. If he does own these watches then he would have the source files and not have to bother with crappy cropping.

Yes strange for a guy that sells so many watches to do that, surely he can appreciate that people want to see the actual watch for sale. I was offered a speedmaster at a ludicrous low price by him some time ago.

He wanted to trade with me too I had a carrera day date and he offered me a ceramic seamaster chronograph(€2800 asking) as a trade he wanted cash on top his way, something seemed off with it, there are not many people looking to trade down.
I’ve sold loads of watches at this stage and I’ve never used anyone else’s photographs it’s pointless in the long run as people want to see what they are buying.
The pics he’s using is from a registered dealer in Germany

Same here, offered a trade for a speedmaster on a unsalable digital/chrono tag I was selling....

It’s fake, the dial is too crisp for a vintage, and the Rolex crown is not elongated enough, also where are the minute markers?? Every datejust has them. The dial looks It’s supposed to be a copy of the checkerboard from the 6605 but it’s not even close

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,615 ✭✭✭scwazrh

Not all Datejust have minute markers when diamonds are used . The date looks wrong though , Doesn't seem to "pop" like a rolex cyclops should. And the crown is definitely too small.

Here is a similar watch, again the bezel look homemade on the adverts one and the magnification on the date seems off but could be crap photography. When your asking a few grand for a piece I think these details are valid to ask for? Fact he is calling it a just date doesnt help.

Bezel is a show! Crown is terrible! Perhaps a franken with some real and some aftermarket.

Wouldn’t link to where he bought it even though he got it on eBay. Says enough for me.

Never knew that, good to know. He has new photos up and is claiming it’s a 69 1601 I posted a link to a genuine one and it’s completely different.

Edit: he’s blocked me now, anyone want to ask him where he got that valuation from, maybe he’d post it up

Something about that seller I don’t like, we were exchanging messages before when he wanted to buy a watch from me, he wanted me to leave feedback before getting paid in cash and he wanted to meet in his place which I found strange and I checked his listings at the time and it seemed to be all bikes and watches with no boxes so alarm bells were ringing
This one is a few quid cheaper and the seller has a good reputation

    https://www.adverts.ie/16023803

    Still overpriced though

Both same price now! He must have dropped 500 over the last day or 2.

Agreed that there is something a little off with him.

He appears to have a lot of nice watches but like that never been tempted to get in touch

I did a part-exchange deal on a watch to him, worked out fine. He flips them very frequently.

Suspect seller. Bad photos. Cyclops looks poor but older models were less magnified.

I have my suspicions about that one, but the photos are so bad i can't make out enough detail either way. No box papers and saying you can get a genuine Hublot strap for €70 are all red flags though

The grammar is the worst part......

Honestly that was a red flag too, most people who can afford a genuine Hublot are educated to a standard beyond "txt spk"

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,768 ✭✭✭893bet

I didn’t report this at it didnt seem fair to deprive you all of some of the worst fakes on earth.
