See lots of reports on how bad the Huawei EMU?? Is I was sort of holding out for a Nokia 7.1 but doesn't look like any of the networks are going to offer it here,

I like the idea of Android one as I'm using a nexus 5x and it has no crap on it I have a Samsung s8 for work and hate it Samsung have ruined android on it,

I was thinking of a P20 on a Vodafone bill, I'm on SIM only with three buy don't want to / can't spend big money on a SIM free phone and the nexus has gotten very slow as it's 3 years old,

    Any advice,

Might be best to wait for the Honor Magic 2. Honor is basically Huawei, same chipset as the P20 pro I believe but with a new design. The cameras wont be Leica branded but the software should be the same.

Seems like November 10th is the official release date of EMUI 9/Android Pie on the P20 Pro.

Was slow coming, I've used Nova since day 1 but trying out the default launcher the last few days it's not as bad as I expected it to be from reports so will be interesting to see the changes.

I went for it today so far it seems like a nice phone haven't had to much time on it yet but so far so good, screen seems so much larger than the Nexus 5x but phones are the same size,

Wont be much change in price i'd imagine, Samsung are the most overrated phones in my opinion, i have had a few over the years and always found them crap

Bought the P10 plus last year in July 2017, got it from EU Global, it was €530. That was 4 months after launch, when it was €749 for 128GB and dual Sim.

Currently the P20 pro is €659 for the equivalent model, down from €791 and we are 8 months into the cycle.

I also noticed that the mate 10 didnt decrease at the same rate as the p10 last year.

Huawei are becoming more of a tier one brand.

    A possible problem.
The speakers on this phone are obviously at the bottom on either side of charge point.

Are they both speakers, only 1 speaker on my phone appear to be working?

Does anybody have experience of the normal p20 against the p20 Pro? I'm trying to stick to a budget for my next phone and the standard p20 looks about right. Reviews I've seen say main difference is lcd screen as opposed to amoled and that the camera isn't as good but still excellent in its own right. Any other thoughts or concerns?

no sign of an update for me. I presume they are staggering any roll-out. would be nice to see version 9.

Fairly sure it's just the one speaker on right hand side of charging port and the one on left is a dummy/for aesthetics? Also the earpiece is another speaker. I'm open to correction.

Yeah this appears to the case. Google was my friend.
    Thx for replies.

I got an update this morning on the P20 Pro, but it was just the November security patches.

Have had the P20 and moved to a Huawei Honor 10.

What are you looking for in a phone? The Pro has better battery, water resistance, bigger screen. Standard P20 is still a cracking phone.

Ì'd be looking for a good all rounder with a great camera for circa €400 (I don't ask for much!). Water proofing isn't too important and the screen on the P20 (while LCD and not Amoled) looks pretty good. Size wise it seems to pack a decent size in a smallish phone.
Was there a reason you moved away from the P20 out of interest?
I think I've made my mind up with the Twilight P20!

It''s a brilliant phone - I went back to a Samsung A8 as I used a S8 for a year previous to P20 and missed the layout. Clearly didn't miss it that much as I only had the phone for a couple of weeks!! I was on the lookout for a P20 Pro or something along the lines but the price was a bit too much for budget.

Spotted the Honor 10 online at a very good price (got it for €250 on Adverts) and went from there. Go for the P20!

Anyone have intermittent issue where when an app is opened it won't load content when on WiFi? When it happens, flicking WiFi off and moving back to mobile data the app will start loading content. It's intermittent but annoying.
    Here's a video to show exactly what I mean;

I tried with WiFi + on and off and still get the same issue

Currently free on Vodafone 60 a month or 40 a month with carfone warehouse sale. With Vodafone at the mo and get free Spotify premium which saves me 12 a month so I'm effectively spending 50 a month. Works out roughly the same as if was to buy outright SIM free and go with three 20 a month payg

Hi guys, I was looking at the p20 but the Vodafone deal on the p20 Pro is interesting me.

I'm a bit concerned though after a quick Googe threw up a number of users saying camera performance when taking quick snaps of kids and pets etc wasn't particularly good (particularly lower light) and that images often came up blurry where there was a small bit of motion. Has anybody here had similar issues? A few of the complaints mentioned that the camera has been hampered by Huawei updates and that the auto focus is no longer as sharp as it was.

I probably don't take many fancy shots and I'm more looking for a good point and shoot camera for capturing family moments when you don't have much time to set up Pro mode etc

    Appreciate any thoughts.

Anyone having issues with Spotify on Android Auto? It shows "Something went wrong" and won't play or show anything, have to force close the app then reconnect the USB. Very annoying.

I've broken the screen on my P20-Pro, anyone priced a replacement?

    Where did you get yours?

I could be completely wrong, but I think Vodafone offered free screen replacement on their pre orders? Or all orders?

I'll recheck tomorrow if of any use.

It was Vodafone now you say it, I don't remember that deal though. Did get the headphones in case they were separate deals

You should have got a card with your delivery with the screen replacement details.

It came with mine, so i will try to check if I still have it and what details are included on it.

The camera is amazing but I do find that I get blurred shots of my fast moving young kids. I tend to take lots of shots at a time and some will be great and some blurred. I moved from an iPhone and overall I am really delighted with the camera. I still have more to learn to get the best out of it though. There are a few P20 Pro Facebook groups which I find handy for tips.
