I don't have to get up in the morning. I can stay in bed as long as I want. And I don't have to go to sleep any time soon either. I am very easily pleased.

Snug abed, dog walked so at last she is settled, quiet night lightening to quiet day.

The mewing of five buzzards circling in a clear blue sky above the garden.

That has to be one of the most satisfying feelings ever, not having to get up for a certain time the next morning :D

The smell of a freshly mown lawn.

I'd be happy just to have been able to finally get it cut but the smell, and the tidiness, makes the effort worthwhile.

Finally plucked up the courage to address something I wanted to change in work, didn't think it would go down well at all even though it's a small thing (too much "soft" thinking...) But actually picked a moment where it was well received. Delighted!

Happy to be safe indoors as another roaring sodden gale echoes and rampages outside . Happy to watch my old cats, 13 years, wrestling and playing together in the hall, kitten fashion, a blur of long black and white fur. They have been doing this since they were in the womb.

    'Granda I made you a card...that's a dinosaur and a tiger"

Happy he explained, just as I was about to comment on the lovely giraffe and monkey.

Aren't grandkids great! my mam and dad adore theirs!

Is it true they've better than your own kids? (All the fun, zero responsibility)

They are an absolute treasure. The big thing is that you have more time for them than you had when your own children were small. There is the added advantage of being able to hand them back when you have tired them to crankiness. We love nothing more than having them visit and sleepovers are special treats for us all.
The happiness children, then grandchildren, bring to a life is immeasurable and everlasting. Not something we should ever take for granted.

    Edit: And Not Trivial!
