I signed up to do an intermediate German course at the end of January. It's only 8 weeks long but it's the first time I've committed to something since August. I'm nervous about if I'll be able to manage to go to every class but I'm also excited about doing something again :)

This shocked me when I was living with flatmates. They were all college first years while I’m a third year and they were all born in 2000! Granted I’m not that much older than them, but I was still born in the 90s so it always made me feel so old!

There was a wonderful murmuration right over my house for about 15 minutes. I was afraid to go in and get my phone to film it in case I'd miss it. The sound of hundreds of starlings swooping right over my head, and none of them pooed on me.

Heaven. Love it. They've a tendency to flock near my parents house. Never get tired of the spectacle.

They gather on the exact same tree here every evening, the sound is fantastic, so loud. People flocked (lol) to a village in west Cork last year to watch a murmuring every evening, it really was spectacular.

I must be the last person on earth to discover balsamic vinegar. It's fecking lovely stuff. I was given a Jamie Oliver cook book as a Christmas present and am trying out new ingredients.

Cat! While I was asleep he decamped from my bed to the stack of NEWLY KNITTED LEGWARMERS! The sheer wonderful cheek of it! And no I have left him there - for now!

Also CAT! New lad keeps bringing me live birds.. Well not sure if he brings them for me but always insists on coming in the house with them... .Y'day another and it was clearly unhurt so I took it outside to release and away it flew... Tiny wrens ... He is a vivid black and white so they must be blind.

Small happies at my lovely friends .

Latin declensions do not make me happy :)

Nominative, vocative, accusative, genitive, dative, ablative. I can never forget. Tattooed on my eyelids at this stage.

    Quick story.
I had a vicious and sadistic Latin teacher...he broke 1 kids arm in 2 places..and then decided I was fair game...I left school in Dec and didn't return until the following Nov...11 months on the hop (school record still )
Went back with the provisio that he was not to teach or contact me...and the school said yes..

In my later teens and 20's I worked part time with my neighbor who did monuments...we were working on a new grave and who's did in spot right beside me?!!
Didn't have far to go that day when I needed a piss
