Found myself laughing along with this. Reminds me of of some if my story reading efforts for the grandchildren.

I gave to get this book.

If you haven't read "Click Clack Moo - Cows That Type", do yourself a favour and get it. :D

Was out near the shore with the dog and heard and saw a curlew... such a poignant evocative call... we saw one on the shoreline on Thursday. It brought tears to my eyes, that call today as the bird wheeled and soared in the strong wind against the white topped waves.

I love the colder weather coming in. It's so much easier to know what to wear. I sorted through my winter jumpers and jackets earlier and am ridiculously pleased at the thoughts of wearing them again :)

Friends effusively praising some of my creative work. I don't consider myself creative at all so a nice surprise.

Myself and the BF was invited on a short road trip with a colleague and her BF. We went to a small town 3 hours away from Toronto. It's the first time I've left the city since I moved here a few months ago. The weather has been really humid here lately, but yesterday was the perfect autumn day.

It was 11 degrees, clear blue skies, and no wind. Everyone in the small town was so friendly. We were kept talking (by choice) to the locals in any of the shops we went in to, and they were all so lovely and friendly. I finally felt like I was actually in Canada :pac:

Ended up in a cafe that served the best coffee, and really nice, fluffy pancakes with maple syrup. It was also the first time I've stopped thinking about when I move home to Ireland, and finally started to feel like I'm settling in here.

Getting two loads of washing dried on the clothes line in beautiful Autumn sunshine, I'm easily pleased.

More power to your elbow. Can you drop over and do my ironing when you're finished? :P

TH: finally have the space to submit long overdue health etc expenses to Revenue. You can now scan everything and upload it to the Revenue website for good and throw out the physical receipts. But you can only go back 4 years so if you haven't claimed yet, get to it. They say they refund within 5 working days - 'The quickest and easiest way to claim relief on health expenses is using our online service myAccount. The vast majority of people who claim this relief online receive their tax refund, where it is due, within five working days.' If true, I'm going to hit the Miwadi and sparkling water hard next weekend.

Got a present of a mug that says I wish I was a unicorn on it today, that made me happy.
Think I'm going to bring it in to the office with me, I know it's not very professional but it's adorable! :pac:

I was dreaming about the actor Ryan Hurst (with beard, very important! ), all night, at least it felt like it. In my dreams he really liked me, I'm such a saddo! It put me in good form for the day and I have been googling pictures of him like a teenager, lol :)

What is this ironing concept which you speak of, it's not in my vocabulary :D

I just remembered something that made me uber happy the other day. When I was driving to work, the Lino Richie van started doing a U-Turn on a tight street.
I could have zipped through, but instead I let Lino Richie complete the U-ey which took ages, noted the big line of traffic behind me and gave the van driver a gleeful nod.

I'm in Clifden with my brother for a few days. We booked an apartment in one of the main hotels, rather than staying in the actual hotel. I'm trivially happy that my brother is so amazed by it. "Why have we stayed in hotels in the past if this sort of place is available?!?" he asks.

For €95 a night (between us), we have 2 decent-sized bedrooms with big double beds, a big livingroom/kitchen area with cooker, fridge and mini-fridge, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, and provisions like homemade bread, cereal, 2 litres of milk, butter, and a litre of orange juice. Anything else, we can get as cheaply (or not) if we want.

Ciifden itself is ordinary. It is the surroundings ( it was my home town a while)

    Sky road loop

Going out towards Roundstone, LEFT at the bridge along the Old Bog Road..

Competed my couch to 5k. I am slow but I’m steady. I didn’t stop during the 5k which was the goal

My TH is a super fit runner blazed past me and gave me a massive thumbs up. It was 6:30 am and we were the only people around

He didn’t have to do it but it meant a lot to me. Camaraderie :)

If you haven't already, you should check out your local Parkrun. If you can manage to get up before 6.30am then a 9.30am on a Saturday start won't be a bother to you. Great camaraderie.

I'm doing a 5km tomorrow, I just want to finish, it's not about the time :)
But it's great when someone experienced gives you the runners nod

Mrs S does the Saturday Parkrun here - walks and jogs - takes her about 37 minutes but she says the encouragement and friendliness is amazing.

TH at this gift of a day - sunny and calm.

The boxes of produce harvested from the garden this afternoon. Vegetables galore now in stock for the winter. Fruits preserved or conserved in abundance.
A tremendous crop of onions now drying in preparation for stringing.
Despite the drought, and excellent crop with surplus for distribution to family and neighbours.
