They're doing ok so far...it's the last 20 mins when they tend to lose their way and fall off the pace.

    Nice!

Some great ruck clearouts in the build up to that try.

17-5 is a great lead but Italy can leak tries if Scotland get the ball back.

That Minozzi try is my favourite of the championship. Relentless pressure, going through the phases, and then a risky kick through to take the try. Great stuff.

That gold number on the Italian jersey is hard to see at times!

Decent driving maul by Scotland there

Is it just me or are Italy being ripped off by the ref? Scotland hand on the ground at the ruck when Italy won the Scotland lineout, then static maul for 10 seconds and never said "that's once" or "use it".

That penalty could have been given for a couple of things, given for Scotland holding on, but also a Scottish player came in from the side. Excellent try line defense by the Italians

Scotland think there world beaters after beating England now they can’t back it up.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,480 ✭✭✭bloodless_coup

    Italy high temp when attacking

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,715 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    Italy butchered a certain try.

Pass the ball to your best back you muppets.

The pace they were coming onto the ball following that line out was incredible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

Couple of Italians with white line fever there, cost their team a try maybe twice.

    Power of home advantage

Italy butchered a try there by going to the maul - was definite gaps being created in the Scottish defense

they just needed a strike runner to hit the line

Honestly, I think that it's just naivety that they have as a whole but it looks like they are having it hard at match time.

Whoop, despite Parisse trying to butcher it again.

Itlay had to be smarter there, take the conversion as quick as possible. Bad captaincy.

Parisse is starting to become a bit of a liabilty. That's the same overcut pass that he threw last week to fluff an otherwise excellent attacking move.

Argh Parisse! Butchered that - after a great try by Negri

and we were worried about Scotland this time last week ??

Great break up the middle! Nice try - poor minding of the ball by Scotland

To be fair when they're confident they're very potent, but they get deflated and ragged so easily.

hoping the same happens september 2019 in Japan

He just had to run through the two of Scotlands smallest players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

The Italians must butcher as many trys as they score. Another bad Sergio pass costs them

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Regional South Moderators Posts: 15,247 Mod ✭✭✭✭rebel girl 15

Two butchered opportunities! Parisse in both

More handbags from the front rows - Scotland not happy at all!

Feel sorry for Conor O Shea in the coaches box watching that!

What a hit in midfield - you could see it coming a mile off!

With a bit of hard work and perseverance they could be the next Scotland - capable of beating any team with sublime attacking rugby one week but capable of humiliating themselves the following week.

    Finn Russell's been rubbish again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

Amazing how poor and anonymous Finn Russell is when his team is behind.
And now he's off, right call.

I know it's the last game and they still be beaten but why don't italy try to play like this more

HIA rather than substitution I think (only paying half attention to the game) but you could see it the way his head smacked the ground

They do play like this, but superior teams are able to tear them to shreds.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

If that try wasnt scored, Italy were down to 14 men you'd imagine.

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Regional South Moderators Posts: 15,247 Mod ✭✭✭✭rebel girl 15

Italy will have to be careful - there could have been a yellow coming for persistent infringements

5 between them - in for a great last 20+ minutes

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Regional South Moderators Posts: 15,247 Mod ✭✭✭✭rebel girl 15

Scottish player flew into that ruck well beyond the ball off his feet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

Italy need to take a few classes on tactical kicking, they are truly awful at it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,525 ✭✭✭kilns

As great a player as he was Parisse is becoming a liability for Italy
