Exactly.

The sweet spot I have found is leaving my global difficulty setting on hard for the open world stuff, bounties and control points. Then when doing the required story missions you are free to change the difficulty on them if you want, without impacting your manhunt progression.

Have to wonder what type of builds all these people crying about difficulty are running. Ran a mission last night for the invasion, took a solid 60-70 mins. Absolute nightmare, people running really unoptimised builds, 20 percent weapon damage here, 25 percent crit damage there etc. Ran Pontomac this evening with a really well optimised group however, and we were done in 23 mins, everyone pumped out at least 280 million damage, that being the lowest from the guy running a healing hive build.

Makes me think that it isnt so much a case of the difficulty being too much, more a case of eejits trying to run before they can walk.

Edit: both missions were run on challenging

Same for my 1st time was a bit annoying.

For my 2nd 3rd and 4th well you know how the game constantly gives you shotguns with close to 1m damage. I think they are a clue, next time you fight him use one and it melts him.

Finally gonna be able to give the season 1 manhunt a go tonight. I was planning on upping the world to hard, should i do that before any manhunt activities?

Yes

I had all the manhunt done except Roosevelt Island I bumped the world level down to normal so I could do a firewall specialisation unlock I thought would be tricky, rather than get invested in Roosevelt Island just now. It was only when the world reset I remembered it resets the manhunt progress. I'm sure I'll get over it at some point.

Jesus that sounds like a horrible mechanic. I read world tendency doesn't even affect loot drop but that can't be true. Would only bump it to hard for better loot but if have the same chance for exotics and god rolls, might keep it at normal.

I ran through Federal Reserve with a pistol on normal. It dropped a decent gear set from a random enemy, I'm not sure if the quality is better but you definitely get more of it on the harder difficulties

Me earlier this evening: "really liking my build atm, feeling like I might actually be raid ready".

Me just now: "I can't believe I just matchmade into a normal difficulty bounty and died 3 times".

Consistency is not my strong point.

I've always been defensively minded but I'm starting to deviate towards a DPS build and it feels good. I'm thinking negotiator's dilemma it's buffed my dps significantly, if it's doing what I think it's doing it's insane.

I think in the current meta, especially when playing solo or with randoms, DPS trumps everything else atm. I'm curious to see the state of things after the rebalance that sounds like it's on the way cause I'd love to run glass canon as one of my talents, but with how hard enemies are hitting right now, I'm too scared to use it :pac:

The fast travel load times are ridiculous to the point where you might as well just run to your safe houses. Feels broken.

Any advice for a guy planning to get back into this after a good few months off. Looks like I bought the fancy version so I have the new York expansion. Should I be starting from scratch and scrapping all the gear I have. Because I have a **** ton of crap gear. From reading here it looks like they have upped the difficulty. This drove me crazy in the first game changing the gear mechanic all the time. But I think we all have a bit of time on our hands now so I think I will get back into it.

Scrap everything in the recalbration library, play the DLC and get to 40 then whinge about the difficulty

I went from maining an M60 and MK17SSC to an Ump and Mk17, every weapon drop in the DLC was better than anything I ever had.

And now you can basically craft any gun with talents want (if you have the blueprints which I dont)

I upgraded my PS4 drive to SSD and it loads anywhere in 3-5 seconds.

I’ve hit level 16 and I’m not seeing where all that initial launch fuss was coming from. I realise I'm in the minority on this one and I’d hate to say it but The Division 2 is kind of boring at times. Maybe all the good stuff is level 30 onwards? There’s something really bland about the world, reminds me of Ghost Recon Wildlands. When you’re on the actual mission it’s good (and would probably be even better in co op if I could matchmake successfully) but when you’re doing all the repetitive checklists in between that in order to level up it feels like I’m going through the motions.

I know for a lot of people games like these are all about the loot and combat but for me it’s also about the characters, world and lore hence why I love Destiny 2 so much. The audio tapes which I enjoyed collecting and listening to in the first game are mostly useless filler now with terrible dialogue. I don’t even know what the main story is about, that’s how little I care about it and the character models are dreadful.

The A.I. plays more defensively which means while they’re more intelligent they’re also way more annoying, resulting in many missions ending with you chasing even yellow barred enemies around the map as they run round like cowards from cover to cover. I feel like there’s a role reversal here lol.

I'll stick with it because I am interested to see what endgame is like which is where games like these really take off but so far underwhelmed.

No, you're right.

This latest expansion has me playing more than ever though. It's the first time this game has actually felt like Division to me. So if you can make it alllll the way to he end it'll be better.
