    Banjo, you can give unlimited as a number of guesses, and your partner can take as many as he wants. This is typically used to indicate something is different about this clue, such as 'hurry take as many guesses as you can, you have the info you need, the other team are almost there etc etc'

    By emphasizing the spelling you could be seen as hinting at an alternative thought pattern for guffy. That's all. Made a similar correction for kitten k in another game, and as per the rules captains can give clues and confirm if guesses are correct or not. Unfortunately no chat or clarifications while the game is underway.
