Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Ireland make very hard work of scoring when in the Welsh 22.

Earls was in a one on one situation with Steff Evans, screaming for the ball and it never moved wide.

Phew. We are dominating but white line fever from the forwards, poor kicks from Sexton and conceding a poor try have skewed the scoreline.

The good is us absolutely mashing them in the breakdown, Farrell looking absolutely comfortable and the forwards making ground in the tight.

The poor is Sextons kicking, lost lineouts and Aki making too many errors for this level. The 10-12-13 combo aren't comfortable getting wide.

We could easily win this comfortably with a bit more composure.

Half way to a bonus point and people will still call us a bad attacking team. If Sexton hit his kicks We'd be looking comfortable here

    good turnaround

need to score first in the 2nd half though

Has Rory been having a word with Jackson about all the offsides at all? AWJ is in his ear a lot.

    He did during Sexton's conversion.

Would like to see Carbery on at 15 don't think Kearney has offered much

Odds on first penalty Ireland give away in our 22 being a yellow??

If I was a betting man. There also wouldn't be a review if was wrong call!

I know the saying is you need to earn the right to go wide, but we're far too slow to do it when we have done the work.

Farrell impressive as hell again. Carrying on from his good performance in green last game he played. More in the 2nd half please. We need to be patient and not snap at chances. Some beautiful passes by Sexton and Murray to create the tries.

Farrell is eclipsing Henshaw's impact in the first 2 games, albeit they have different strengths.

Our running attacking game is superb. We are getting through them constantly.

The young lads have been impressive. Ryan and Porter making those small gains every time they pick the ball. Stockdale will be an Irish winger for many many years to come. The guy has serious class.

My man of the first half has been Healy though. He has gotten through a serious amount of work.

7 tries in as many games, have we had a winger as good a finisher as him

I just want Chris Farrell to have my massive babies, that is all.

Sometimes I wish Ireland were not so conservative with their attacking play from 30 meters out from the try line. Their build up play though has been good.

Farrell and Leavy have been immense. Back row have gone well, need to ensure the welsh back row 3 don’t get a sniff.

Big high tackle on Kearney missed by Jackson that led to the turnover and then the try. Poor stuff there.

Need to get the forwards and Murray to get the ball out quicker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,602 ✭✭✭✭Akrasia

Farrell is huge. Basteraud is a beast at 6ft 1 and 20 stone. Farrell is 6ft 4 and 17 stone but Farrell is much more mobile and has more gas in his tank

If sexton hit his kicks we'd only be a point better off?

I actually think he asked the TMO to look at it, but he said it was fine. I didn't really agree, but that's the nature of the game.

Henshaw was seriously good against Italy tbf.

If he were fit I'd look at himself and Farrell. Aki looks ropey.

Got a try off his kick hitting the post

Bundee got a forearm to the head in the build up to the Welsh try. Completely floored him. Will be consequences, I suspect.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,223 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Bit nervous. Wales were not good in that half but are just 2 points behind. They'll get their act together eventually and we'll need to be further ahead when that happens.

    We're the better team.

If we keep the heads we'll win.

Ah lads stop moaning about Sextons missed kicks, his first kick gave us a try. He saved us in Paris. I think we will win btw, I have been dissapointed by wales.

I know this is sacrilege but is anyone watching Murray thinking "yeah, that's the best scrum half in the world" at the moment? Farrell desperately trying to get his attention to get the ball wide but he just has the blinkers on and he's not even moving the ball quickly.

Wales get away so much stuff

    beyond the breakdown
    in the tackle
    offside at kicks

He always dreamed of scoring in the Aviva against wales

Because we all dreamed of scoring at 'The Aviva' when we were kids...

If he got the first penalty then we wouldn't have got the try, so never would have missed the conversion.

Box kicks and appealing to the ref. That’s his lot.

Seriously, Wales have done nothing so far. We have to expect that they will have another gear or two in this half.

The first penalty gave the try leading to the missed conversion. Had he made that kick, there's 2 less points on the board. Add in the other penalty that was removed from that sequence, and we'd have had 6 points instead of 5 from those two missed penalties.

What was that commentary on TV3 about a late call for a mark? Wasn't inside the 22 so would have been pretty futile!

Navidi and Shingler couldve ordered pints on Bath Avenue those last two times. Shocking by the ref, Rory needs a serious word
