    It worked for me. Think I had a long free subscription in the early part of '17 and several over the years.

    One of the big advantages of Google play over the competition is that the free version allows you to bring your own library with you. When I say your own library, I mean mp3s etc that you have downloaded from any source.
    Very handy to be able to access it from anywhere, and on a free account.
