Some nice breaks starting to appear in the clouds here in Waterford City. Temp 4.3c DP -1.3c Wet Bulb 2.3c. Still feel we are well placed to see a covering of sorts later. Knife edge stuff though as usual

Just had a look out into Dublin bay there and the cloud is starting to break up :D also it is thinning out above (noticeably brighter)

Nice dew point in Dun Laoghaire now -5.2, a good place to start if we want the fall in temp from the east

2.8C on the hills north east of Kilkenny city.
2.1C in Kilkenny city but they started from a lower temperature due to a more severe frost.

I still haven’t woken to a fall of snow in Dublin 3 since December 2010. I see a moderate chance of it tomorrow morning going on the model outputs - short range - it would even appear as good a chance as there has been. But for some reason it doesn’t feel ripe for snow. It doesn’t feel like proper cold is in place. But sure we will see. Hope to get my young fella out in it. He’s six and wasn’t even born in 2010.

Always marginal for us though isn't it. That's what makes it so elusive. Never an easy road to the White Gold. When darkness falls we will have a better idea of where we stand.

No wonder Shackleton and Crean went south so often...

Interesting turn of events in Lucan. Dew point has started dropping.

Lots of sun and blue skies in Dublin South City now, dew point at Dun Laoghaire is down to -5.7, let's hope this is the start of the cooling...

Blue skies last half hour in swords.
    DP nose diving.
Had a nap a while ago in preparation for a long night ahead :)

Mad to see temp at 4c and DP at -4c.

No need for that, just get out of Dublin and up into the hills. It was snowing above about 500m on Wednesday, and on Saturday only half way up the Wicklow Gap road from Laragh. The top of Tonelagee was a complete whiteout on Saturday too.

Yeah I am an avid winter climber. Very fond of Galtymore (917m) for good deep beautiful snow. Hard to get much on the western hills though.

Aye my dp is pretty much the same
Cloudy here in Arklow and 4.4c
Very marginal but just about doable when the wind swings NW later here especially as there’s obviously mountains to the NW of Arklow

I would like a 3c drop in all temp values but I doubt it

For all the talk of easterlies
We are actually relying on a westerly for snow

And lol the cloud here is now producing a light snow shower
Talk about the athmosphere telling me to feck off with my pessimism :D

There wont be snow in Sligo town today. Maybe tomorrow morning. 4c and feels mild.

Though i think Sligo county will see snow the town will be disrupted by warmer sea air.
