Never realised that he is a serial philander.

God help his poor daughters, it must be so embarrassing having your geriatric father keeping a harem of girls who are one third of his age.

    That's a damn fine article.

Some good work I'll grant him.

    But a tool clearly.

lol What f**king genius wrote that? Quincy says he used to eat rats, looks like The Irish Independent use them to scribble down these articles

Not my experience when I came back here a few years ago....casual racism/bigotry is far more prevalent than in the UK...at least that's what I experienced when listening to work colleagues. Quincy Jones does seem like a bit of an arse though and maybe a bit of a racist himself...nothing too unusual there.

The UK has by far the highest number of reported incidents of racism-related crimes in Europe based on available data:

    http://www.enar-eu.org/Racially-motivated-crimes-2011-2015

Perhaps casual racism is less prevalent in UK than elsewhere and apparently British are more comfortable around those of other ethnic or religious backgrounds:

However, in terms of actual concrete, reported crimes, the UK has a resounding lead.

I don't care what Quincy thinks but I do see Ireland is getting more and more racist as the years go by - especially in the last 5-10 years.

"All the guys in the Vatican had these Vatican black shoes," Jones told the magazine, but said the Pope had some different footwear on.

"He had on some burgundy wingtips, man, with thin tan rib socks, man.
"We had to go and kiss his hand before we left. And when I kissed his hand, I looked down and saw those shoes and it just fell out of my mouth. I said, 'Oh, my man's got some pimp shoes on.' And he heard me.

    Fuccking lol

    https://www.gq.com/story/quincy-jones-has-a-story <- it's a great read, but i've no idea what percentage is true/embellishments/dodderiness/lies
I wouldn't take it too seriously

Never knew he was like that at all, I'm a fan of his daughter the actress Rashida Jones - must be embarrassing for her (and her siblings) having him going around with 28 year olds!

It was all downhill after Darth Vader, as far as I'm concerned.

Never heard of this guy but he knows us Irish fairly well, or has been well schooled on us.
If he says the Irish are racist, we'll all rally round him to prove (to him) that we're the exact opposite.
That's how we are, imo, and he knows it.
I guess Mr. Quincy will have plenty free places to stay when he honors Ireland with his presence next time round.
Mickey D might have a spare room?

    A very clever guy indeed.

.....or a better system for reporting ..or more races/people etc...just a thought. That said I was surprised how ready the tabloid press in Britian was to stoke up anti Irish sentiment during the recent Brexit/border issue...so there is definitely an undercurrent left among some people that has proved easy to mine.I've always wondered why Irish people still give their custom to some of these rags given their **** stirring predilictions over the years ..the Daily Mail in particular but not exclusively.

Why does she want to know what Paul O'Connell thinks?

    Because he's a ginger.

    And from Limerick.

Think he meant 'so white'. He came here, saw no black faces and got a bit freaked out / assumed we're all racists (Father)

This was probably 20+ years ago. We're not so exclusively white now.

Great article though and it's apparent he must have a genius level IQ.

    Life ain't always empty.

Ah Christ she embraces Americanisms like white privilege without a single moment of critical thinking.

Was looking at some of the university staff lists recently. Great diversity among the facultits. Tip: it'll be the foreign guy on the fixed term contract ;)

Jesus Christ, just my privilege? How about people have a bit of cop on and show some politeness without the
    needless bollixology.

You've heard his music even if you hadn't heard the name before. He worked with the absolute best of the best. An article from a few days ago is worth the read, although I'm a little taken aback by what he had to say about John Coltrane's Giant Steps (one of my all time favourite albums). And the antics of Marlon Brando. He's obviously promoting the upcoming Netflix releases and relaying tales of a long career working in the entertainment industry.
